This is a very helpful video! You mentioned that linen does ok with frogging. Have you ever unraveled something knitted from 100% linen and reused the yarn for a different project? I've done this with wool several times, steaming over a kettle to straighten the yarn before reusing the yarn for a new sweater. Do you think this would work with linen yarn? Many thanks.

Thank you. I have been top down too. Bottom up sleeves were confusing me. You make this so easy to follow.

I live in PR, there are very few knitters or yarn stores here. Since the pandemic, I have renewed my love of knitting. I was a total beginner, mostly made squares and rectangles, blankets & scarves. Little by little, I have found my way, learning techniques through KZbin. I finally found you, my dream teachers. Your videos walk you through the steps, so clearly, so easily, I am in heaven & that is saying a lot! Thank you so much for all of the effort it takes to make these videos. Thank you for the amazing content & super clear instructions! You have a new super fan. I intend to check out your shop & support you anyway I can. Thank You, Thank You, Thank❣️

I am swatching with linen and am having a great difficulty with the yarn twisting. I hand wound it into a ball from the skein and it was annoying even then. Do you think soaking it would solve this problem? I can see that this linen tee is going to be a challenge but I am determined to make it work.

I have been knitting for 60 years and never knit with Linen. Started a new project with Linen/cotton blend and was struggling. I used every hint you gave switching needles to wood, knit a swatch and washed it, what a difference. Thank you so much.😊

I'm going to knit a shawl with linen. Since there is no fit involved, do I really need to make a swatch?
@needlesinthehay6141
@needlesinthehay6141 Жыл бұрын
Hi Robin, the main reason you would make a swatch in this case is to ensure you like the look of the fabric, but more importantly to make sure you will have enough yarn to finish your project!

Just a suggestion for future videos ... it's much easier to see what's going on if there is more contrast between the yarn and needles (e.g. with dark yarn, use a lighter needle). Otherwise, great pace and very clear instructions. Thank-you

I guess I'm 1 step ahead since I don't use and joins with wool. I use one with cotton, but I forget what it's called. A particular knot. It's nice to know I can knit the ends in since I do that sometimes. I really like lace so I think I will like linen. I have a fingering wool/linen bland that I'm swatching for a sideways knit top to get some vertical visual lines from the hand dye color

Love your choice of patterns (including those in your Ravelry account)! May I also suggest the Deschain? I just completed it using a linen yarn that is not like the Quince & Co. Kestrel …I used stashed Punta Yarns Montoya Beach. The resulting fabric was much more see through, but I was able to wear the sweater to a wedding, over a sleeveless tank and palazzo pants. Cheers!

Hi Kaila! Deschain is such a great pattern! I would have included it except for the fact that I didn't think that 14 sts/4" would be possible in the BC Garn Lino! I'd love to see a photo of your Deschains if you'd like to share in the group. I could totally see this is a nice open gauge breezy layer for the summer.

This video is really helpful!! I have a question: what do you do when the pattern calls to having only some of the stitches on extra yarn? do you seal the other stitches with a needle? or is it another holder?
