Brand new frame with worn crank arms.😮 That frame deserves new cranks.

@@dennisduran8500 maybe but the build was meant to use a bunch of leftover parts from other bikes so must of the components are used. It turned out great though.

Super interesting video! I want to do this myself. So thank you for that. Gives me a good overview. May I ask a question? The thing I did not understand completely is the fork. I will reuse a fork from a different bike. The head tube on the Timberjack is 10 mm shorter so my assumptions is I can recycle my Fox 34 fork from somewhere 2020. So no bearings need to be put into the Salsa's head tube as they are there already, right? It is only shortening the fork as you showed and putting the spider (don't know it's name and will propably ask my bike shop as I don't have tools for that step) back in it. Do all the forks have the same diameter so they fit the Salsa's head tube?

Awesome work! Seem like the title should get changed from budget to custom build. What’s the approximate value (not even considering the build time)of it all kitted out? I’m just sending back a Rangefinder Deore 12 to get the SLX 29 Timberjack. At $450 more it was a no-brainer. Thanks

@@JayTaylorSirfishalot the title does say “Custom Budget MTB Build” lol. It’s a bit hard to put a value on it since many of the components used where takeoffs from other bikes but a few months after I built that bike Salsa released a Timberjack build that matches it pretty well and they sell it for $2800 I think.

Nice video. What was the purpose of rebuilding the shock?

Thanks! Marzocchi Z2 forks come without foam rings installed so I wanted to put some in. Also, Fox forks tent to come with an absurd amount of grease in the air shaft which acts as a volume spacer so for good measure, every new Fox/Marzocchi fork I sell I open the air spring up and make sure it’s properly greased.

That was the double brain for the rock on the right stone with a dark grey snake Y tongue cover to cover the little footballer boy from few weeks ago and the double diagonal was an attempted cover for the left stones which were held up on a crane mouse species, children of God, while the mop hook I picked up was the hair curl hook for the right ear to bring it up
