I always wondered how the actual pumps powered by those windmills looked like
@ThatDamGuideАй бұрын
The original water pumping mills used a paddle type wheel that lifted water about a metre. These archimidean screww types were much more efficient and lifted more water higher.
@farzanamughal59333 күн бұрын
@@ThatDamGuide Roughly when were the archimidean screws adopted?

Another awesome tour by Mark! One thing I learned this time was an art movement titled COBRA, a name coined in 1948 from the initials of the counties’ capital cities: Copenhagen (CO), Brussels (BR), Amsterdam (A). Many pieces Mark showed are inside the beautiful Hotel Ambassade in Amsterdam. Mark showed and gave us the history and details of this building and many others dating from the 1600s. An opulent building by Vanderbilt was included.

Great virtual tour! Mark Law is making wonderful informative detailed tours in Amsterdam titled “Detailed Amsterdam”. I have learned so very much about locations in Amsterdam from these tours. Watching this tours live and repeating them has really helped me when I have travelled to Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a very walkable city. Mark is a licensed tour guide. I absolutely recommend his tours.
