call me by your name is literally a grooming book, but instead of marketing as disgusting like Nabokov with Lolita the pedo who wrote it romanticize it...

Great list of books, very interesting analysis, thank you very much! I would add to the list of aesthetically beautiful books also the works of Hermann Hesse, such as The Game of Beads. Greetings from Ukraine, which is bleeding, but does not give up!

Fantastic video. This is such an important topic. MJ at Reading This Life has set up a book club with some other BookTubers on Fable 'I'm With The Banned' and every month we read a different banned book. That's how I came across 'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian' for the first time which is such a wonderful book.

I’m new to reading romance, honestly not sure if I even like the genre but I bought Bride bc I love to read about Vampires. I wasn’t a huge fan of it, it was just ok. I did LOVE Fang Fiction, it’s another Vampire book kind of romance but pretty interesting plot. I’m also currently reading Empire of the Vampire and it’s more of a dark take on vampires and I’m enjoying it!

Who is "them"? Peeps who don't 📚 read? I have a couple of friends who are in that group. Lol. Don't ask me how they can go through life NOT reading. I assume their parents didn't read much either. Ever. And I am excluding my Paternal grandparents who were illiterate. But, their youngest daughter who was an elementary teacher and KNEW HOW to read but only scanned the local paper or read the Bible on a regular basis, didn't read anything else. But Classics? Recreational reading? Nope. She was quite busy most of the time. But if you don't have 15 mins a day to read, then something is really wrong. But I am biased. I think everyone, if possible, should read. That includes audiobks and K-books/e-books.😊

I agree and I truly believe theres a book forever one. If you don't like reading you just haven't found the write story, topic or author that resonates. I tell my non-reader friends to keep looking and try to recommend books that I think would suit them

Great list. I love Dracula, but a great alternative is Carmilla. I think it’s more accessible and considering it predated Dracula by about 25 years, it actually feels a lot more modern.

I used to have a bit of prejudice against "Dracula" until I read it a few years ago. It surprised me in the best way possible. The book is amazing, one of my all-time favorites.

That is a very interesting topic i have re read and re listened to my 60 warhammer books so many times some i loved so much i ither walked around my house, went to school always with the same omnibus in my hand. Many of the books iv read as a kid i have visited back now as an adult. But there are many i wish i could read for the first time.
