It's also crazy that we call ourselves African American or Black, and neither is who we are, just like there's no such thing as white people. So, let's start with identifying ourselves first because then we can put things into perspective. Understanding who we are would allow us to clearly reveal who so-called white people are and why we are in the position we're in today. Now that I'm aware of my true nationality, things have become clear, and I have love for the future and my ignorant people.

BPP needs to make a comeback and get these black boys off the streets, stop black on black violence. I know the US government killed the BPP off, but they are slowly coming back. The KKK is a terrorist group that has existed more than 80 years. BPP was not about blatant violence it was about serving the black communities. BLM,BPP, Tulsa Oklahoma 1920s, and other black folks were murdered and burned to the ground by the government. But KKK, mafia, Irish mob, Russian mob, but every black organization is disband as criminal 🤔

This “judge “ is the worst kind of animal. That young lady broke no laws. She only bruised his over inflated ego. He has single handedly turn his courtroom into a Kangaroo court.

Ty for this! Linguistics is one way to catch these more, in real time. But how inadequate all the things my adoptive parents never clued me in on - that they totally knew better. Btw, I've never seen a comprehensive list of terms of these origins. ...

I’ve personally always taken issue when a black person calls another “bougie”. I grew up poor in a terrible neighborhood surrounded by drugs & murder and my peers called me bougie for doing well in school. I chose books over the craziness going on outside my door. Reached adulthood & the word continued to be applied because I carry myself with class. Being called “white girl” as an insult for refusing to speak the same broken English I grew up around. It’s all self-hatred and a major part of why our people rarely celebrate the achievements of our own people. When I hear a black person call another bougie, it’s the same as being called a “house n*gga”, as if only white people get to carry themselves with distinction. It’s sad.

This family has a good lawyer and they're suing but yet again it proves give any man or woman and ounce of power and they will bear their true fruitage this ignoramus traumatize this kid at an early age which shows you how parts of our community treat our children as adults when they're nothing but children that need to be protected and understood the lack of humanity and empathy involved in this situation he should be disbarred!

I lived in Prince George's County, MD for 26 years so I am quite aware of this. It's highly effective as a positive, constructive social tool, but its downside is that it exerts way, way too much peer pressure. In Prince George's County a large numbers of people do not have sound, stable family lives, so peer pressure is overwhelming. Often people, particularly the young, are being bounced around by peers at school and in the streets, manipulated way too easily. So this expression, along with other clear indications of what is actually deprivation of critical, comprehensive, sound thinking, needs to be addressed by community leaders. It really is a GREAT IDEA to do away with what is actually a truly cold and heartless statement, "acting too white." Everyone needs education!

What he did was shameful... As a Black community leader he should have done more to help instead of humiliating her. On the contrary, most that have seen his work can attest that this man is a glutton for power. More importantly, this is a lesson to our youth to better research the judges that we are appointing within our municipality’s.

Here I was going to say "Oh neat! I love how multiple cultures have similar cultural symbols." and perhaps muse on about my euro-centric understanding of brooms through story and traditions. And instead, oh look, someone who missed the whole point of the video. She's discussing a tradition often seen around America and the misunderstanding of it's origins and meaning for African Americans. It's in this context she's referencing "it started", but if you wanted to argue first in history I'd still put my money on Africa (big continent, so already winning there). Since the Celts came up and out of Africa like everyone else, and I'm pretty sure that brooms would be an easy handy thing to use, I'm still inclined to believe it started there. Now, taking the Celts out of the equation, you MIGHT argue broom started up in the north there yea, but I'm no plant expert so I can't attest to the Scottish Broom's geneology or origin at all!!

It seems that US judges can just do whatever they like including sentencing people who haven't been convicted of a crime. Why this constant need to humilate and traumatise black girls and women? People, but especially black men really need to ask themselves some questions. This judge showed her exactly how black people are treated in the cjs. I'm a probation officer and when I was doing my court duty training I fell asleep. Court can be long & boring & it can be difficult to sit still for long periods etc. That judge needs a different job.

Do you think Charlene Mitchell's story hasn't been taught because she was a Communist? I think that's extremely unfortunate. It's unfortunate not only because Communism has been foolishly demonized way too much, but also because this kind of history should be taught even if people disagree with the person's ideology. She was still a Black woman running for President in the 1960s, and her story should be more well known regardless of her political affiliation.
