Is the Prince of Belleair theme ripping your Dad’s rendition of that music? P of B tv theme is credited to Quincey Jones III. What’s up?

I use to love going ovet to the little girls house next door in the morning we use to eat coffee creamer by the spoon full and watch caption kangaroo waiting for the ping pong balls to drop that just killed us . I sometimes wonder what ever happened to that little girl we had so much fun back then.

My older brother and I as little kids watching Captain Kangaroo in the mornings, loooved when Mr. Banana Man came on! We would laugh so much. I love these memories. Such a fun and innocent era for children...I thank God for those awesome memories. ❤

He woulda been okay doing his act mute. Between him imitating Curly Howard and hitting that same screechy note... he is annoying af.

I can’t begin to count how many times I find myself singing this song. Couldn’t remember all the lyrics so that led me here. Thanks to the poster.

That's why I love KZbin, repository of everything I forgot lol. Would love to see the TV commercial version where they had the chorus line on the Scioto River.

Dave I first saw you in Scott Houston The Piano Guy. From then on I kept watching The Piano Guy. I got in love in your style of singing and playing the piano especially when you sing I Left My Heart In San Francisco. Though I don't have a golden voice like you, I sing it. When I am with my nephew and nieces I sing it. As if I'm really a singer though I don't reach some notes. dave I'm 75 yrs old last June 15. At this age I maintain some old songs in my iphone. Hope I could meet you even with your youtube videos only. My day is awesome seeing you again after many years. When we left America during the covid years, I was not able to watch you on TV because The Piano Guy show is not shown on Philippine television. Sad thing.

Is that a Technics SL-????
@davepowersmusic8 ай бұрын
It's a modified Audio-Technica AT-120 done by Esoteric Sound using the old Rek-O-Kut name. It's my main deck for archiving 78 rpms, with variable speed, forward and reverse and a vertical-lateral switch for playing vertically-cut records.
@Willee648 ай бұрын
@@davepowersmusic Reminded me of my old Technics with a Grace tone-arm. The tone-arm sat on a ball bearing so it would perfectly track a warped album. Last time I had it serviced was at Custom Stereo on S. Hamilton. That was a couple weeks ago. lol

[Voice]0:26 Over the desert wild and free rides the bold Sheik of Araby band at his command, follow his love's caravan. Under the shadow of the palms he sings to call her to his arms. "I'm the Sheik of Araby, Your love belongs to me. At night when you're asleep Into your tent I'll creep. The stars that shine above, Will light our way to love. You'll rule this land with me." While stars are fading in the dawn over the desert they'll be gone; his captured bride close by his side. Swift as the wind they will ride. Proudly he scorns her smile or tear; soon he will conquer love by fear "I'm the Sheik of Araby, Your love belongs to me. At night when you're asleep Into your tent I'll creep. The stars that shine above, Will light our way to love. You'll rule this land with me." - This is what I read off the player piano roll.

Yes-somewhere around 74 rpm. Seems like some of the Victors recorded in early 1925 were recorded at a slower speed 74-75 rpm. It’s pitch-corrected to the original key which is E-flat.
@fromthesidelines Жыл бұрын
Was it recorded at 74 rpm?

The group is unidentified on the record. I had this record on another label when I was a kid. This is the original release and both LP’s didn’t identify the group.
