Thank you for sharing your process. The prints would be great to use in an art journal. Are you using a hard or soft brayer to spread the paint?
@karenclarkcreations8 күн бұрын
Thanks! I have two brayers. One is a speedball that came in a block printing kit and the other is the gelli brand. The speedball brayer feels softer. Thanks for your question because now I feel like I need to pay more attention to the brayer to see if I have a preference.

@@karenclarkcreations here’s one example for me. For years I never wanted to share too openly how much I loved my husband. Like I’m not posting it on FB for sure because what IF he doesn’t actually love me as much as he says, what IF we split up, what IF everyone says “we knew you weren’t pretty enough for him”. We have been married for 22 years, together for 25 and I still get scared to show how much I care so I don’t look like a fool if it all falls apart. It sucks to have this feeling. I always point out how fat I am, how I hate my double chin, ya, I know I have it, you don’t have to tell me. Imagine how I feel about my art now…. I’m so sorry you feel this way. I hope and pray that some day we will be confident enough to show it all to the world because we are enough.

I watch a lot of videos and I see what I would call a mistake. But the tricky part is what I think is a mistake is actually something they like. Art is your expression not something for the viewer. The artist is showing what they can do and what they like not what I, the viewer wants. Your art is good, you’re sharing what you’re good at. If you tried to fix what I think might be a mistake are you doing it for me, the viewer, or for you the artist? I, as a consumer can decide whether I like a piece of art regardless of whether the artist’s likes it. You do you! And enjoy the act of doing! Life is too short to try to make the world happy. Just remember not everybody has a positive view of the world and once everyone else to know what they do “wrong”. You don’t have to listen to negative Nellie’s.
