This is quite a wonderful little railway. I like how KZbin is very much its exclusive online hub, if you get what I mean! The presentation is beautiful and the collection has a small but lovely variety of backgrounds. That you have two Quarry Hunslets of both Penrhyn and Dinorwic patterns with engines of French and German-design origin is quite a treat for your volunteers. Regards, Samuel Farris.

That brought back memories of working on Sybil in Pant workshop many moons ago. I remember Tony Hills telling me the story of when he purchased the loco for £60 back in the sixties. It was a lovely little loco to drive too. After it's rebuild the bmr would run it on a siding outside Pontsticill station house. I would park the Baldwin, nip across & have a go of driving Sybil. Happy Memories.

Thanks for the memory, if they were still £60 we would all have one!

It is amazing that these little locomotives that were designed to shunt wagons in slate quarries can pull passenger trains smoothly and "at speed" over significant distances.

A testament to the designers and engineers who originally built her!

can I just say I'm glad 827 Sybil is being ran and looked after by a railway who didn't shut her up in a shed. But to be truthful, I was saddened to see her leave my hometown for good. Glad to ser her running though

She was well looked after by her former owners but we are very glad to have her at the RLR and we look forward to the next 10 years of steaming!

@@RichmondLightRailway Thank you. The colour helps them blend in very well. Do the dimples on their sides have any function?

I believe it is to provide extra friction/grip for the ballast.

All your locos are immaculate but this is going to look great. Can I ask how are the safety valves set is it a case of pressuring the boiler and just adjusting until the valves open

It depends on the design but yes!
