would have been nice to comment about what size header pins you used...no paper clip or standard header pin is going to work should have made a mention about that...otherwise an excellent video !!!

Instead of a screen you can use TIO: "tio is a simple serial device tool which features a straightforward command-line and configuration file interface to easily connect to serial TTY devices for basic I/O operations."

Wow! I'm blown away 😮 I wonder what should one learn to do this kind of hacking. The electronic part is the one I find more difficult 😬 By the way is it how a firmware is dumped? How advanced in electronics should one be to perform that?

great tutorial, although pretty mind boggling that D-link does not silence all serial logs and even worse expose U-boot... I hope they encrypt and verify the image they run in the flash otherwise this is unsecure. Safe to say i wont be buying any of d-link products.

@Tony Gambacorta, could you make a video explaining how to re-pack the file-system back into the firmware after making changes to it?
@eugenex8892 Жыл бұрын
Looks like fake video! I'm working 2 years as hardware programmer and can tell you - or dlink programmers are extremely stupid, or you work not finished and you inside fake RO shell 😂 Almost full hardware OS writes inside RO chip, and resets everything on reboot. Everything working like DSL distro - you have core OS what finally readonly, and small files what just mounted inside. Like configs, firmware, e.t.c.

Wow Tony, I've watched thousands of video tutorials on various subjects, but you have a rare talent of relaying your teaching clearly and understandably , please, make more videos on this subject, I've learned more in your two videos then in 50 others with uhm/umms and no being straight up. Keep up the really great work!

You're Brilliant. I'm kinda very poor. My focus is on Space. I wish to create, restrict many systems. Access Restricted to systems, esp. O.S., no backdoor. Input /output Blocked, type a command and your visiting system will be fucked. Redundancy will screened for bugs etc. Next Interface communication will be absolutely secure (My Algorithm).
