Your caption states that the redevelopment project will be carried out by Megawide but in your video it shows the proposed design from CFI. Megawide's proposed design was the more apt because it pays tribute to Cebu heritage with the structures showing a 'PUSO' motif (hanging rice motif) and the Sto. Nino Park among others. The CFI designer doesn't seem to understand the Cebuano heritage concept as their design has not shown any single aspect of it. Megawide has already submitted their proposal and other documents and was supposed to be endorsed by JVSC to the Cebu City Council when, out of the blue, CFI protested their proposal was ignored to which the JVSC denied. The truth was CFI didn't submit the proposal design and other pertinent documents within the prescribed 10-day period where the Swiss Challenge was declared. What CFI submitted instead was just a simple letter of their desire to submit their proposal, not the proposal itself and pertinent documents. Because in any unsolicited project proposal, the first proponent always automatically get the advantage if their proposal is approved. When Megawide submitted its unsolicited proposal last year to the Cebu City Mayor for the redevelopment of Carbon Public Market, Megawide automatically became the original proponent for the project as no one else before them did so. So the city council studied it meticulously for months before they came up with their decision and have JVSC scrutinized everything about the project. So the JVSC (Joint Venture Selection Committee) subjected the project to a Swiss Challenge for 10 days but they received no challengers. As a result, the JVSC endorsed Megawide's proposal to the Cebu City Council for final approval but CFI protested and cried foul. The City council then sought comments from JVSC about CFI's accusation of irregularities alleging their proposal was ignored. No news about it since October 23.
