Don't understand why with all issues and no company support, you buy a machine that you have to modify.

Because even with some modifications, you still save thousands of dollars over the big names.

Looks like it comes with a Honda engine now unless the picture online is wrong.

They have options for a Honda engine if you choose to pay the higher price. The DuroMax is a Honda clone, similar to a Predator engine.

Thank you for the review. I'm seriously considering buying this splitter. I'd love a Wolfe Ridge but I don't really sell enough wood to justify a $9000 + price tag.

how long of a log can you split? I don't see it listed but might just be me.

About 24" is the standard, but I know at least one person said he ordered a 30" stroke custom.

Great review. You covered just about everything good and bad. Keep an eye on your push plate bolts and shims. The shims are just cheap thin plastic and my bolts have come loose before I loc-tited them. Kyle has come on board at Ramsplitter and he is Doug’s son. He will be handling customer service and hopefully it gets better.

The overall design seems fairly decent . At it's price point I'd expect it to be fairly basic compared to other brands of similar design. If you had to fab and upgrade some things to make it better it wouldn't be a total shocker.

Exactly. For the money, I’m happy with it. It’s fast enough for me. If it were any faster, I’d have to hire another person to take full advantage of the speed… but that’s not going to happen. So this is plenty fast for me.
