I think we both have a strong aversion to mud! This ride looked pretty mud-free though and you even got in a coffee. An essential part of any ride :)

The tank at 7:44 is a water storage tank. There are many of those along roads and fire roads, and they serve as resupply for the fire fighters in case of wild fires, wich sadly happen every summer in Provence. Some of them are buried .They are usually checked and resupplied every spring. Thanks for the video.

That looks like a great holiday especially at that time of the year. If you ever consider a Cross Country MTB, in stead of a gravel bike I would recommend looking at a 2x11 gearing. That rides well on the flats and in the mountains. 1x12 is only suitable for in the mountains. I have both options and the 1x12 slows you down here in the Netherlands. Nice! Funny two weeks ago a sign along the tour I was doing read Sault 10 km. The Mont Ventoux was passed on the North side. That tour consisted of two loops: Around the Ecrins mountains (Bourg d’Oisans, Briançon, Queras, Gap) and through the Baronnies (Gap, Sisteron, Nyons, Die, Dévoluy). The camera was brought along.
