This is the first interview I have heard where pro Nazi sentiments before the war were admitted to. My paternal grandparents were Italian immigrants, they had no strong views before the war. My Dad told Me that My first Wife’s paternal grandfather who was a Slavonian immigrant had very pro Nazi views and people secretly made fun of Him because whenever the name Hitler was mentioned He would come to attention and do the Nazi salute, that was before the war. My Father in Law grew up and lived His entire life speaking Slavonian fluently. Many times I listened to He and His Cousin Tommy speaking Slavonian about I don’t know what. They are gone now but when I go into San Francisco I laugh to Myself thinking of How they would call many of the decrepit people there “ Sliniva’s” or “ Mymoon’s” . I probably spelled the words wrong. My Father in Law was 18 when He went into the Army serving with the 95th Infantry Division. He had a collection of Nazi Dagger’s , Flags, old newspaper’s about the war and war crimes trials, M-1 carbines of every manufacture that would make any collector or museum curator sick with envy. Moose looked like a mix of Richard Boone and Joseph Stalin. In His late years much like Albert Einstein. My Brother and I still laugh recalling how on a Deer Hunting trip to Colorado we stopped to eat at a large restaurant Casino in Nevada and He was talking with My Dad about the sad state of affairs in this country with all the leftist , liberal’s , LBGTQ, homeless etc. and very loudly exclaimed that “ Hitler Had The Right Idea, Get Rid Of All That Garbage”. He was really a character who could tell a Woman that if Her Shitsu dog had a broomstick up its butt it could be used as a dust mop and the woman ( My Brother’s attractive Mother in Law) actually react as though thrilled that He gave Her attention. His voice was like James Whitmores character Kinnie in the Movie Battleground. Moose also chewed cigar’s. He had a big Handlebar Mustache. His Parents came from a little Island that I believe was Italian near Venice. Mr. Walpusk is similar in appearance to Mooses relatives and I wonder if while in the Army He may have been called Wally because His last name was hard to pronounce too.

American Europeans brought first nations nightmares, teachers of Hitler. You guys got away with it though. ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

No one wants to hear the interviewer going " WOW, right, right " it's so annoying to listen to, let the man tell his story this is not for you.

Great interview. The interviewer is very knowledgeable. I'm glad that you also got into his pre and post war life. It really helped putting us in the story. BTW, I usually listen to these while working without seeing the video. When I listen to many of these guys my mind's eye does not see a man in his 70's-90's (depending on the year of the interview) but rather how they looked as an airman, soldier, sailor, or Marine.

Liked getting to know this guy ,He lived through some really tough economic times would give up a commission for his family. He is one tough guy.

You can bet that the seven dislikes goes to the interviewers, but I truly enjoy and respect this man and his history. God bless.

My Brother Ralph Leasure was in 2nd. Div. and he was wounded at Brest France the first time and again in the battle of the bulge. He was a staff sgt. in 38th. inf. co. F. It was1996 when I finally got his personal records and other collectibles after his death from a car wreck in 1950. He was a golf pro from Cumberland, Md. and after the war he was golf pro at Bedford Springs, Pa. resort and golf club.
