Thanks for doing this video! I gave the exact same wash machine and there are issues with the agitator. It seems it my be the washplate bit if it isnt the issue then is the transmission. Thank you for pinning the top comment, too! That'll save me some time if i need to replace the transmission. God bless you for all of your help and willingness to post some advice that'll help the next person.

Hi i just stumbled upon this video as I am having issues myself. I have had the lock replaced 4 times already, and now working on my 5th. Have you had any more issues since you installed this gasket? I am also in the SETX area with high humidity.

No, Mine has been working since Summer 2023 with no problems. The gasket keeps the moisture out so it can’t condense on the circuitry inside the lock.

Curious if you think this could have been done without pulling the inner tub? My agitator plate came up relatively easily, just have to pull straight. It's the dang large nut that does not want to move on mine. I've got a plumbing wrench that sort of fits the nut, but looks like I'll be buying the spanner wrench.... Thanks for the video.

Fantastic presentation on this newer model! Only one I could find similar to my unit. Very smart to use plumber's lube on the seal. My unit failed after 9 months under waranty. Still waiting on the manufacturer's parts for the clutch. Two months waiting! Rotor screw came loose and caused the failure to drive parts.

Clayton, is there any way to get this unit to put the correct amount of water in it while it washes? My machine was obviously designed by Greta thunburg!
@claytonmarcelle2612
@claytonmarcelle2612 Жыл бұрын
Gotta love Greta.😂 There is a plastic tube on the back of the unit that plugs into a sensor on the control board. You should try checking this tube to ensure it’s connected well. The sensor uses this tube to detect water level in the washer. There are some YT videos that show how to get to this tube. Hope this helps.

You can skip a whole lot of steps if you actually want to go to the expense of buying the parts to make this repair you only need to remove four bolts on the bottom and the wash plate and spanner nut could a 23-in 2x4 miter the end so you can fit it up inside the tub easily put a piece of wood on top of the transmission to protect it in case you're not replacing it put a bottle check in between the 2x4 and on top of the transmission spine couple clicks with your hand and it'll slide out like butter no need to remove the top no need to remove the tub unless you want to

It's a parts washer if the transmission goes out it's cost prohibitive to make the repair economically you have to consider your labor and if your wash played isn't stripped and loose from the transmission failing then getting it off can be near and possible and just because a couple lucky souls say they were able to remove one without total destruction are the ones I find four leaf clovers

Thank you Clayton, great video, this got me off to a successful project. I adapted a few things; unscrewed the transmission first, used a scissor jack braced with a 2x4 into the shoulder of tub top (against the metal not the plastic) to press the tub off the transmission shaft which dropped to the floor. Also, I have an agitator tower that required a 12" extension to reach with an electric drill - I couldn't get the leverage with a hand tool. I had to tap the tub back on the new shaft by simply using the same 2x4 and dead blow carefully around the shaft until seated. Repairs are costly in my neighborhood, this saved me easily $300 in labor.

How can I determine if I need a new transmission, or only a new washplate? It looks like they might both be stripped where they make contact but it's difficult to tell because the transmission looks like the teeth aren't very deep to begin with.
@russellfinn2587
@russellfinn2587 Жыл бұрын
I guess if it's leaking water or oil you need a new tub seal of some sort that the transmission goes into for sure mine the wash plate is totally loose and you could pop the spline of the transmission up and down it was definitely leaking water if the wash plate is stripped you got that part too so I don't see how this is feasibly economical to repair ?
@russellfinn2587
@russellfinn2587 Жыл бұрын
If your wash plate was totally loose most likely it stripped out the transmission gears both parts are cost prohibitive
