Your commonplace book is such a beauty! 😊 Do you usually tab book pages as you go along and then transcribe passages when you’re done reading? Thanks for sharing! Reading + notetaking = happy me too 🤭

hi, yes! i read the book first then write the tabbed/annotated pages on my notebook :) hope this helps!

Your handwriting is so pretty! I only skimmed through because I don't like to read people's notebooks. It seems too personal for me. But I love that people still write anything by hand! I used to have nice penmanship. It's become terrible because I rarely have a need to use a pen anymore. Plus, I type constantly for work, so my hands are often too tired/achy to do anything else. Sigh. Anyway, thank you for sharing. It makes me happy to know people still hand write things in today's world.

i keep these notes and I have since I was a teenager -I am almost 60 now. I like your organization and your grid paper. I admire how you have archived your lovely notes of inspiration. I am still searching for my method that clicks for me.

Sometimes I think to make a notebook like this..... But then I stop, cause people will read it ,and will think its weird, and I will feel uncomfortable 😬😅

As long as you keep it out of their sight, Sandipan! LOL. But just keep your notebook; it helps really to look back and keep some notes!

I like how you have put page numbers and chapters on the left. I need to start doing this when taking notes when reading

Books excerpts, famous phrases, thoughts that are important to you, recipes, facts that that you would like to remember in future.

Basically anything that serves you well in your interests. E.g., If you like to write, you can keep a commonplace book of new vocabulary, book quotes, random (internet quotes), and even did-you-know facts. Artists keep a commonplace book of doodles, art ideas, and some such. It's totally up to you. There are no hard-and-fast rules here.

Hi @Deoniisus, yes! Like what the others mentioned, you could write quotes, phrases, and anything around the sun! It's really a commonplace where you can write about everything!

It also depends on how much you write and how often you like to jot down random thoughs or various other things. If you write down various random thoighs often, then I would keep a seperate book for those thoughts, and then keep quotes, short summaries of books(as in what i took away from the book as food for thought) and more introspective thoughs in regards to non-textbook read materials, could be from online, a book, or anything else really
