Lap steel guitars are so far gone from normal guitars now that I don’t even know if this guy knows how to play a normal guitar
@sesa298428 күн бұрын
Hi, I’m just starting out. I have two cheap 6 string lap steels. One, I’m obviously gonna put in c6th, but I’d like to know what you recommend for the second. I play mostly country of all kinds (as long as its old) and if it influences the decision at all I fitted palm b-benders on both. I’m wondering what second tuning to have on the ready will give me the most versatility to compliment the c6. I’ve got them set up like a double neck.

Ron, sounds great as you usually do. I'm running a Peavey Profex II into my Quilter 202 power amp and it sounds awesome. The quilter alone is not nearly as sweet.
@steelpixАй бұрын
Yea...I think the Quilter always needs something that sweetens it's sound.

Does it resolve back to open D? Sound like it wants to resolve back to the 1 by letting off the pedals.
@steelpix2 ай бұрын
You can resolve to the 4 chord or let it go back to the 1 chord. It's got the 7th sound.

No disrespect Sir Ron Hogan, but that has been by 99%; using the 3 and 5 strings. It started, when Ralph Mooney; put a 3rd String after Buddy Emnons; who put the 1 and 2 strings. Then Buddy and Jimmy Day played many; with 3 and 5; as Weldon Myricks did too. And many others. And the greatest songs; that used the 3 and 5; was Connie Smith's "Once a Day" with Weldon Myrick; and Buck Owens song "Together Again" with Tom Brumley! Now... May Jesus rests their Precious Souls. They were my friends. And I really miss them. Amen.

That’s the only nice thing I ever heard about Jack Ruby. It was kind of Jack to let Leon use the car, and then never asked for it back. Poor Jack was injected with cancer while in prison by the CIA. Jack gave an interview to Dorothy Kilgalen, who was murdered before she could tell what she found out.
