As you said, love how quick/easy it is to get going with them, no fiddling around, just take it out and start mowing. Makes it much easier to keep on top of things. Also easier to wrangle into tight spaces. I have the 36v plastic base, works for me. Has a mulching plug which makes things even quicker, no need to keep emptying the catcher (which is small). Doesn't really work well with long grass though.

Always the first place to start when I hear people saying it's running rough. Also the easiest and cheapest to do. Then making sure no vac hoses are cracked and leaking. Another cheap and easy fix. After that it gets a little more annoying doing things like sparkplugs and looking at dead sensors

Oh no, Sebby, what have you done? Should’ve used a heat gun. I hope you can find a replacement for a decent price. I remember when you used the oven to cure the gold paint on your WRX front calipers and the steam was pouring off them. I bet that smelled awful too! 💨😷

Nice upgrade, Sebby Mulholland! 😉 Perfect timing too with all this crazy summer heat which will cause massive heat soak on the stock intercooler. It should pick up a noticeable few extra kilowatts on cold winter nights. Are you still on the factory tune?
@sebsshenanigansАй бұрын
They might have to hire me next time he gets sick and can't record 😉😉 But yeah with the heats we get it'll be nice to have a little more area to cool that air, have to make up some ducts and thinking about trying to rig up an intercooler sprayer. Far as I know it's stock tune, I don't think the previous owner ever tuned it. But it's very very close to going in now for one. Just need to do injectors and a 3 port ebc then it's sweet. Definitely not looking for power though, just good air/fuel ratios and keeping temps happy as the engine is at nearly 300xxx
@aussierabbit391Ай бұрын
@@sebsshenanigans Good plan! You’ve got all the vital pieces in place before hitting the dyno. A Walbro 255 fuel pump would be perfect if you haven’t already upgraded. A cheap VF34 turbo or similar would be awesome if you’re still running the TD04. A figure of approx 190awkw will be well achievable on your setup, will be fun for daily driving, and won’t over stress your high mileage engine a gearbox if you take it easy. I look forward to seeing what result you get and have been following your Subaru content for years!
@sebsshenanigansАй бұрын
@@aussierabbit391 yeah fuel pump got done early in my ownership to try sort a running issue. Not toooo worried about gearbox as it been rebuilt with sti gears and stronger centre diff. Bigger turbo stuff would be when this engine goes out though, or if this stock tubo craps the bed first

What is the relearn process on the IAC?
@sebsshenanigansАй бұрын
Mind blanking on specifics. But I think disconnect the battery and hit the brakes to "drain" any current and that resets the ecu apparently. Then connect and let the car do a cold start, idle until fans come on or 15 minutes after it's hit operating temp. Can't remember after that. Probably a proper explanation on the old nasioc forums

I bought a bissell one with 330 watts and regret it because of the low suction power. Bissell has models with 750 or even 1000 watts, prefer those if you want to buy one. Karcher has wet dry vacuums with 1000 watts or carpet cleaners with 1000 watts power. Power is the determening factor here!
@sebsshenanigansАй бұрын
even just the single use that the bissell offers in terms of, it can really only do spot vac. the karcher does that, along with normal vac, dust vac and a blower. so for me, karcher or just a shop vac of sorts any day over the bissell
