Thanks for the review. Suggestion, for the lace bite, use a shoes tongue pillow, they are very cheap and usually remove that pressure away. Hope it helps.

I never heard of a tongue pillow. I've managed to find a way to tie them that doesn't put too much pressure on my foot. Thanks.

No issues with lace bite at the eyelets. It's more on top of the foot so I cinch up the lower laces and leave the top one a little looser and that solves my problem. $US 180 is pretty expensive, too. That's about the going rate for shoes like this though.
@smilingsunflower-q9p2 ай бұрын
Great review. Very helpful. Did you any issues with the laces biting into your ankles around the final 2 eyelets where the plastic is? I want to try this shoe but it is just way too expensive here in Australia. Maybe if they ever come down 40% I'll give them a go.

Man these are the first shoes I bought to start running, but no content creator did a job as well as you to explain the forefoot width of the shoe, so i bought a 10.5 in size and wore it to run and man my left feet gets numb specially my big toe and the other side is not as much but it doesn’t feel that confortable either. So if you have issues with the width of the shoe better buy half a size bigger or the wide option which wasn’t available in my country.

I watched your reviews of the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 and the Superblast. Appreciate your thoughtful comment of every aspects of both shoes. I am totally enjoying the Deviate Nitro 2 and is tempted to try out the Superblast. But the Superblast is so expensive. Is the Superblast a good compliment or upgrade over the Puma? Thanks.
@kuriosites5 ай бұрын
I have a complicated relationship with the Superblast. First of all, it is a really good quality shoe and very comfortable on foot. My problem is that the foam is a little firm and I'm only about 135 lbs. with a light foot strike so I don't compress the foam enough to really roll smoothly off the toe. Although the Superblast has a nice heel bevel and toe spring, it feels like a long, flat shoe, so I'm not rolling all the way through the way I do with shoes like the Nimbus or the More v4. Your mechanics may be different. If you are going up over 10, 15+ miles, the Superblast will probably be more protective than the Deviate Nitro 2. Also, keep in mind that the Superblast 2 should be coming in a few months, with FF Turbo+ foam, meaning it may be slightly softer and bouncier. You may consider waiting, as it is a pricey shoe or, if you want Superblast v1, I'd anticipate some serious markdowns. I hope this helps.
@kmchow98chow155 ай бұрын
@@kuriosites I’m 162#, so I do think I can compress the foam. From where I’m from, ASICS has already taken the Superblast off the shelves. So I won’t be able to snipe a good discount at my US 10 sizing. I do know that a lot of new shoes will be out this year, so I will wait patiently. Every time, I run on the Deviate Nitro 2, it delights me. Comfy, bouncy, does well at all paces but tending on the fast side. I don’t want to pay for something expensive and end up finding it a lesser shoe. Thanks for the reply.

Totally agree on the rocker. I love my pair but some days I choose one of my more rockered trainers. Id live Puma to consider a line or even just one shoe that moves away from their more traditional geometry

Hello, I stumbled on your channel in my feed and have enjoyed watching your shoe reviews. They are very informative and I've found them very useful. Are you training for a specific running event? You must run a lot of miles to be able to post these 100 mile reviews!
@kuriosites5 ай бұрын
I'm not training for anything and I really just go out and do 4-10 miles a few times per week. It often takes me awhile to rack up the miles in a shoe but I had injured my foot at work and this was the only shoe I could run in for a few weeks. Thanks for your kind words. I will try to get my 100 mile review of the Mach 6 up soon.

Which shoe covers more types of runs: Deviate Nitro 2 or Hyperion Max?
@kuriosites6 ай бұрын
Both are pretty versatile but the Deviate Nitro 2 can pretty much do it all. Hyperion Max is a little faster at the top end but not by much and is a little more rockered. Deviate Nitro 2 is a little softer and bouncier and I prefer it for longer miles. It's about an ounce heavier but it doesn't feel like much on foot.

Size comparison of hyperion max and superblast?
@kuriosites6 ай бұрын
If you mean the fit of the upper, they're pretty similar. At 10.5, I feel plenty of room in the toe box on the Hyperion Max as well. Hyperion Max is just a firmer shoe under foot.
@reginaldgonzales6 ай бұрын
@@kuriosites if you size .5 down in superblast is it snug for you? Just like hyperion max upper is woven material snug fit makes it much better?
@kuriosites6 ай бұрын
@@reginaldgonzales I never tried it 1/2 size down. However, the fit of the upper, for me, is pretty similar to my other Asics shoes. I did have the Novablast 3 in a 10.0 and I regretted it later.
@nordicwilly66507 ай бұрын
Nice review. You mentioned Noosa 15's differ rocker design. Have you had chance to try it yet? On the foam, I seem to I prefer boring dense foam for the firmness instead of the new stuff which tends to compress so much. I'm in the minority on that one!
@kuriosites7 ай бұрын
I also like a slightly firmer foam. I have not tried the Noosa Tri 15. The rocker on that shoe is much later and sharper. I did get the Hyperion Max at a deep discount and that shoe has a late rocker, a firm foam, and very smooth transitions. It does take awhile to break in though; about 75 miles for me.
@nordicwilly66507 ай бұрын

Very interesting. I saw some HOKA Mach 6s in the shoe store a couple of weeks back. They felt very light to me. Nice, but expensive at $260AU. Sadly I can't run at all right now, due to weak feet and arch pain. How important do you think weight training is to running? I think I've spent too much time in a desk job and dug myself into an injury hole.
@kuriosites7 ай бұрын
I'm a huge advocate of weight training, not just for running but for health and longevity. Weight training will force your body to work through a full range of motion in a way that running or walking cannot do. It also strengthens the bones, muscles, and connective tissues, which can help prevent injury. I'm not super strong. I'm just a skinny, middle-aged dad but I do a total body workout every 4-5 days, incorporating all the basic movements and I might throw in a few extra pull-ups and dips every few days. Good luck with your recovery.

Great review! I wanted these during DSG’s BF also, but the shipping is ridiculous in my area. Are these great for walking to the grocery store?
@kuriosites7 ай бұрын
I find them pretty comfortable on foot for walking. However, they took me about 75 miles of running to break them in and they are still pretty firm after that. Also, some people may not like that sharp heel bevel for walking. If you get them at a huge discount, maybe it's worth a try.

Having experienced version 2 and 3, which one is faster? And which version do you personally prefer? Do you plan on getting version 4?
@kuriosites8 ай бұрын
Despite the fact that v3 lost some weight, I don't know that I felt either one was faster. I used them both for the same type of runs and never really put it to the test. The drop in the v2 felt higher, despite specs being the same, and v3 was more comfortable to walk in but both felt equally good on the run. I probably won't get v4 but that is because my preferences have changed to lower stacked, lighter shoes. The Evoride Speed 2 just dropped and that looks nice. I hope that helps.

Wow, I do squats (never with weights) but I worry about my knees being injured. I tried squats with a couple of 5kg weights - didn't feel good at. Thing is, I realise weight training is beneficial for strength but it bores me to tears. I don't like public gyms but your setup looks pretty good.
@kuriosites10 ай бұрын
I don't like public gyms either. I actually enjoy lifting weights although I try to keep it pretty simple because I run a lot, too, plus family obligations. If I really wanted to go bare-bones, just to maintain muscle and bone mass, I'd probably just do a push, a pull, and a squat. For me, that would probably be Dips, Pull-ups, and Squats. However, you could also sub in other exercises with a similar movement pattern.
