Yup, all this. The further I get into the season the more my nerves are being tickled. It's just downright garbage. The fact that they're going to try their hand at movies too just saddens me. The Hobbit was awful but at least it wasn't insulting to Tolkien, to the book sure, but not him and what he created on a deeper level. This spits on all of it.

@@TunezCottage if anything the Hobbit films showed the danger of filling up the already written story with additional elements...but the show is something else entirely....a wholly fanfictiony (and so also just as crappy as one could expect a 3d grader silly fanfic to be) story that doesn't even try to follow the basic narrative. The showrunners are particularly infuriating...especially wiht their meme worthy 'back to the book to the books, back to the books' saying in the promotional on the con :). Their original inventions also prove that they are very very bad at worldbuilding and actually trying to make sensible settings...why does the elven watch/guard exists in the land other than for the plot to happen? It's a cheap copy anywa of the Gondorian watch over Mordor except that one actually made sense in the universe...Gondor set it up AFTER the war of the Last Alliance, defeating Sauron and taking care his base of operations won't be threat to them, and even then with the lack of actual detail we still learn more that this guard wasn't just a single outpost, but actual manned fortresses, guarding the passages into the land, defending from the remnants of dark creatures there and taking care no hostile force comes from outside to claim Mordor again etc....the elven presence in the show is so unfeasibly within the logic of the world...and the only reasoning is well....because these 'southlanders' were once servants of Morgoth...oookay...so if that's true the Elves would have to GUARD THE ENTIRE VAST SWATHES OF THE WORLD..as Morgoth once corrupted the many tribes of Men in the east :)...there's no viable reason for it to exist it's also so far removed from the elven lands and holdings....hell Lindon is well over thousands of miles away! Heck Tolkien also specifically says in the letters that Sauron chose this land as his base because it was removed from the Elves away from their sphere of influence to be outside their observation...even the Greenwood the Great and Woodland Realm is far away. So their original ideas don't even have any inner logic of the world and story to them. Another example...I don't how far you are into the season so slight spoilers....the later plot point of finding a note of a 'human spy' which is used as yet another contrivance to drive the plot further, and compare it with the Gandalf research on the Ring and the Isildur's scroll...THAT makes sense...in the context of the world and story...of course Isildur as the last known person to hold the ring could have left clues, Tolkien makes it work because he thinks about it clearly, but that scene with that 'hall of lore' totally comes out of the blue and makes no sense...it's so damn random it has no place in the world or story..it's like the writers were doing convoluted miraculous events totally bending the world to their writing because they would have written themselves into a corner! And if they cannot do a believable world and story...there's no hope for these writers...and not to even talk about understanding the Tolkien deeper themes and meanings regarding the events of the Second Age!

I mean it’s very subjective. I love it because of the inconsistency of the car’s trajectory on the last flashback there but you ask most other people and they’ll point to the kills, which are iconic. It’s worth a watch, especially if you like slashers/giallos.

My main man Gibson sits in a chair for the three scenes he's in the movie then shoots a guy at the very end. He showed up for a paycheck and that's it.

@@user-tw6wb2if8d Indeed, I talked about Bruce Willis doing that too in the video. It's an alarming trend of b-movies being pumped out for tax write off reasons. They can claim to have paid massive amounts of money to an actor who's only in the movie for 15-20 minutes and then bails. They're on set a day, get a paycheck and then the movie slaps their face on the cover and rips people off. Sad practice.

@@TunezCottage I think that's what the Hollywood studios want . Cheap video for their sites . New Electric World Order . They don't want me buying them either . I used to buy second hand cheapies the most BUT I did buy them . I like Gibsons Get the Gringo and FATMAN almost always on Peacock .

Private Ryan is amazing. I was saying that it got hard to appreciate how good a movie was when all I was doing was watching good movies and how bad movies every once in a while reminds you how amazingly effective a good one can be :)

I was actually thinking about that the other day too. And it's just a matter of time before it happens, especially considering there's an abundance of talented individuals that have been blacklisted in Hollywood despite still being able to do good work.

What is the point of The Acolyte then? I don't even feel the need to point out that most stories, including the first 6 Star Wars movies are coherent and logically constructed.

Don’t get why political ideology has to be involved either. The world doesn’t revolve around the US. I mean the other day someone called me a chud which is kind of funny because I’m from Sweden… right-wing extremists here would still be called left leaning in the states. It’s heavily skewed left here regardless of where you’re at politically. And I’ve made it very clear I’m judging the writing, nothing else, but that gets lost in the mess that is the fan wars. It is messy though, I’ll give you that but tv and film have been through stuff like this before. The hays code in the 50s’ neutered movies and in the 80s’ no one wanted to show profanity or sexually explicit content like that of the 70s. Out of both we had some of the best tv and film to ever be made when a few directors and producers decided to go against the grain and that’ll happen again. It’s the cycle of life.
