Have you ever thought about staying in SA and traveling out more, or trying new things, to add to your entertainment. I’ve lived in Houston and it’s so packed, dirty looking, and ghetto. The people can be nice but they can be extremely boujie and annoying too. I live in Florida now but about to move to SA. I was afraid I would be bored too but I decided to go there and try new things. Like exploring the natural areas, hiking, kayaking, traveling more (since the cost of living is a lot cheaper) starting some new hobbies, a walking or cycling group, ect. I think any city can be what you make it especially in states with lots of natural beauty and being centrally located there are so many places to visit within a hour or two flight.

Yes you are totally right. We have thought of this traveling whenever we need it. But yes sometimes having peace and quiet in San Antonio has its perks.

I moved to San Antonio from Los Angeles and I could definitely say that the public transportation is basically non-existent, which is the reason why SAT has really bad traffic problems. The only place in SAT that I would say has a decent walkability where you could actually enjoy walking outdoors and have a plethora of things to see and do would be downtown but even that is a really small area.

Yes I agree with you, the area I live has barely any walkable places. That is a big con for me especially moving from Boston where literally public transportation is everywhere and is very walkable.

@ yes downtown Dallas is Crazy traffic I would definitely live in the suburbs. I used to live in nyc and coming from nyc downtown can be much much. The houses are great you get a lot for your money in the suburbs of Dallas

Ever thought about Austin? I been to houston & it so ghetto & traffic is worst than San Antonio. Austin is nice. Dallas from what i heard is very boring & majority caucasian people. So food might not be the best

Great video, Liz. You mentioned you applied to jobs 2 months before you moved from Boston. Were you able to get interviews/were you hired that way? Or did you interview/get hired once you were in San Antonio? My wife and I will be relocating to SA from the Los Angeles area sometime in 2025. I'm wondering if I'll be considered even though I'm not in SA yet. Thank you!

I was able to get a few interviews before getting to San Antonio, through either phone interviews with the recruiter and a few zoom meetings. The job I am currently in, I interviewed in person a week after I got to San Antonio. I do think applying ahead before getting to the state helped me secure a job as soon as I got here.
