it seems MSC Europa does not have finger food or tapas in the Topsail lounge . Why is this the only YC ship that does not offer this feature. I am booked in YC on Europa in September and disappointed about this inconsistency.

Booked on the MSC Divina in YC in December for my birthday. First cruise so I decided to treat myself. EDIT: I was NOT aware the cabanas on the pool deck were no additional charge!!!!!!!!!!!

Feb 2023 we did a 14 day trip through the canal from Fl to San Diego. Was a bucket trip for me. Sailed on the Zaandam which was the 4th HAL ship we sailed on. To start, months before sailing, HAL took away a port and did nothing to make up for it. Just added another sea day We discovered that if you sail from San Diego to Fl, the ship stops at a HAL island! What the heck. Why could we have not done that going west especially since you took a port away from us. We found the Zaandam to be a low quality ship and showed her age!. We sailed in a Neptune suite so it was not cheap. Room directly below Lido deck and heard carts rolling most of the night. I paid over 30k for this bucket list trip only to hear carts rolling all night long. Ship showed her age in many ways as mentioned. The focal point was the organ at midship and did not work. Only 1 real shop on ship. MDR was just ok. Lacked any real entertainment with exception of 3 days. They did a lot of talks instead of real entertainment. That sucked. 14 days, one would expect great entertainment and things to do while at sea other than visiting the library. Nope! Now for the canal.. It was ok. Got up early to be on bow and see us enter from the east coast side. By the time we got to the first lock, people are pushing and forcing their way to the bow. They mention this in this video! Not a ship issue, but a people issue. Second locks looked the same as first lock so we decided to go eat breakfast at Pinnacle Grill and decided to go to room afterwards. Glad we had a Neptune suite because this is where we watched the remaining locks in the comfort of our room. Only excitement was passing other ships and passing this hotel looking building with a lot of people waving at us. What made the cruise good was the staff. Never had a bad crew on all our HAL cruises despite the ship. Pinnacle Grill staff was awesome. Neptune Lounge staff just as great. MDR staff were good also but food was just ok. So this is,a,cruise I would not do again. Maybe a newer ship would have given us a better experience. Will never know. We are returning back to Alaska for our 5th time in Sept 2024.

Great question! To be sure, we reached out to our Princess representative for precise information. Here is their feedback: "It all depends on the guest's sensitivity. If they just avoid gluten and can order gluten free items at a restaurant normally (I always think vegetarian dishes, Thai, etc.), they can order those items like normal. However if they can’t have food that has been prepared anywhere around gluten then it will be a special conversation and the heads chef will begin planning their meals in advance and advising them what convenience foods they can have. With special dietary requests that require extra care and preparation with regards to cross contamination, Princess doesn't do orders directly off the medallion so that an additional conversation can be had with the head waiter or staff about the needs. Generally the guests will fill out the dietary needs form on the Princess App getting ocean ready and then when they sit to dine they will meet the head waiter who will discuss menu options and also future night dining and what items and where they can go for snacks etc. Our ready made food venues also carry a selection of items for dietary needs with some thing available on the app (think natural vegetation options, etc.) So they will eat well, but they will have those important conversations with a person so we make sure their dietary needs are met."

Is the owners suite on the utopia of the seas the same configuration?

Great question. No, they are not the same configuration. They are quite different, in fact. Firstly, the Owner's Suite aboard Utopia is larger than the one on Icon (861 sq. ft. VS. 658 sq. ft.). The balcony size aboard Utopia is larger also. And most significantly, remember that Utopia of the Seas is an Oasis-class ship. Icon of the Seas is the new Icon-class. But, in the end, you'll notice still some similarities between these two room types as far as bedding accommodation and amenities.

Yes, Nancy. There is one sink. It is a perfect configuration for a couple and intended for two guests, but roomy enough if bringing 1-2 smaller children.

Do they still “get to know you” after the RC buyout? This is the one area everyone agrees has gone from ultra luxury to ultra cooperate 😢. I hope Royal Caribbean listens and focuses on training the new staff with so many new ships.

The Surfside Neighborhood below is fairly gentle as it caters to smaller kids. So, unless there is a special event/activity, it's fairly calm. And in this category, you can always relax on the ocean side if you prefer the ocean sounds. Cabins where noise may be a concern are Central Park views where you hear music/sounds from the Caribbean Pool Deck. Also, part of the balcony on the Royal Loft Suite is in the middle of the party action... so definitely a suite for those who have FOMO and want to always be part of the party.

Just off Icon. While the surfside "family" suite looks good emplty in video, the suite is tiny with minimal storage. Not for us again!. Toilet half of bathroom tiny- no storage, minimal legroom.

Thanks for your comment. Definitely an unfortunate and unique situation what happened to Ben and David in regard to their influencer arrangements. Looks like there was a major disconnect and miscommunication between top level marketing management and directives that were given to shipboard crew. (I think MSC was rightly scared due to Ben and David's previous video and then incorrectly reacted a bit too abruptly.) This is something MSC should for sure address for the future with how they work with influencers. On the flipside, this is not something the every day client should run into and can expect a lovely time onboard. Ben and David had nothing but glowing reviews regarding their onboard experience with Yacht Club, and even they highly recommend it to the usual client.

@5:22 Pro tip order the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Mozza Sticks. Throw the Mozza Stick in the Sandwich and you have a great meal to keep your party going at the bar.

If, he really want to try MSC yacht club is the way to go. My wife, my two young children and myself was in the yacht club on the MSC seashore back in August 2019. It was amazing. Our Butler Renee took great care of us. He even made it a point for him or another Butler to take our two kids to the youth clubs, Miss Trish, who worked at concierge desk. Also make sure we were well taken care of. The executive chef in the yacht club will also do requests for appetizers and main entrées for yacht club guest. One night he made crabcakes for an appetizer just because my wife asked a night in advance.

The island is so big that seeing kids on the beach is not a problem. They are not trampling over you or stomping on your sand castle. They are not hogging the hot tubs or overflowing in the pools. The sea is wide enough that I am not swimming over children. Hideaway beach is just another attraction at Cocoa Cay with a price tag.

Definitely an interesting take. Yes, it really depends on the day/season and the vibe the guest is looking for. Now that Celebrity is bringing its ships, as well... the island will slowly get more crowded, and then I think the distinction between areas will become more obvious. For guests looking for the true party atmosphere and what to let loose without a kid audience, Hideaway Beach will be the perfect option.

@@GoTravelTV It doesn't matter that Celebrity is going there, that does not make it more crowded. Most of the time its 2 ships at coco-cay. With Celebrity you will have less kids, but then again they Took Reflection and made it into 4-3 day booze cruises IMHO.

Hi there! While both I1 and I3 are Infinite Ocean View Balcony... the difference is the placement on the ship. I1 will tend to be mid-ship and a more ideal location. I3 will be in a less ideal location (aft).

Yes, you can access enhanced functionality with your Medallion by downloading the Princess Cruises app… the same app you use for the rest of your cruise like check-in, etc. And for guests who do not want to use the app, they will still be able to take advantage of some capabilities offered by the Medallion due to the RFID technology.
