Sir it’s a plantation that would not exist without slavery. Enslavement is the most relevant feature of the house and the land it’s sitting on, there’s no two ways about it. More slaves lived on its property than the actual family who owned it. Hundreds of men, women and children were forced to toil away their hopeless lives there. Does exploring the significance of that, socially, economically, politically, personally, not seem like a better and more relevant history to the place than talking about wherever the fuck some wooden beam there came from? Where is the historical value in that?
