If you're starting, then the best way is to install ubuntu on a hard drive and host it yourself, no question. If your website gets popular enough to put strain your home network, then it would make sense to pay for external hosting. The beauty of this strategy is that you only have to pay for it when it becomes worth it. With a little bit of time and effort, you will see that self hosting in ubuntu is actually not that hard.

I'm a hobbyist programmer and web designer, but I've always been so confused by blogging. I've personally never met a person that reads blogs, but yet some blog writers end up making an absolute fuck ton of money haha. It just doesn't add up honestly. I feel like there's gotta be some parallel source of revenue that makes up the majority of rich blogger's income. Im sure that these parallel sources of revenue were made possible because of their blogs, but are still a seperate income. Yes they are expensive but Ive been through alot of issues with the rest where I got stuck with site problems and plugins, so yeah, now I have peace of mind- it would be great to have it abit cheaper, but cant beat their service :)

I love using Bigscoots cause of the amazing customer service I get each and every time and of their speed and security packages, but mainly the service, cause I've used alot of other hosting companies (probably 4 over the years) so yeah these guys are my favs :)

Wow, so many paranoid and hypercritical comments for a free You Tube video. I am going to watch some other videos on this topic and take note of common denominators and then search some other topics, search Google trends, and then check some of the high ranking Blogs. This is new to me, but I am a good writer. I am just going to get two or more sources on all topics. Also skim the comments, for any relevant concerns . Also as I understand it, advertising, affiliated marketing and such things are the way a lot of bloggers generate revenue. Anyways, good luck on creating your blogs.

You are still renting the server 😂, buy a server, and try to run it from home. Then you are self hosting. It's not recommended for public and heavy traffic websites though! It's more like a toy/labrat for a technician or geek that gets board at home 😂
