Hello there :) Thanks for your comparison video it helps a lot. I have a Boden metal 8 with fluence modern but I struggle to sound bright and clear in hi gain. I have some nasal and muddy sound that I can't get rid of. Could you tell me how you process your sound ? Thanks a lot have a nice day 🙏

Can’t go wrong with either, but you can do fluence sound on M8 with eq/compression but you can’t do m8 sound on fluence. Also no more battery headache with passive m8 (fluence are hungry and sound like loose muddy stool with old batteries).

Yeah, Fishman USB chargeable battery is a must have. It’s always consistent voltage unlike regular 9v that gradually worsens the tone. And single charge lasts a LONG time.

I prefer Fishman for regular 6-string stuff. But the percussive clarity of the Lundgren pickups is just unbeatable.

Lundgren is gnarly and that's why I prefer it over Fishman. I like Fishman in modern metal sound but there are specific tone and genre that only the Lundgren can create. That output and certain biting midrange is the key of that tone.

Damn dude where was this video when I needed it last year. I hated how the Fishmans sounded in my Boden 8 and was trying to find videos of how Lundgrens sounded in it. I ended up selling it because I felt that the bridge pickup was oriented too far from the bridge to get the tone that I was looking for. I'm sure the Lundgrens would have got me much closer though.

Mate go for m7. I used to have Aftermaths on my RGD2127 and they sounded harsh and clanky. Ended up with m7 and it has been just perfect. Assuming the same result for Boden Prog since it is also a basswood body. Basswood, isn't it?

@fortheseven1
@fortheseven1 5 ай бұрын
@@josephclark5965 I just did not like Fismans at all. They have something wired with dynamics/latency while playing so I would not say they are versatile. First of all these are really hot pickups. Even clean with a coil split may sound like a break up. This is how it was for me. Maybe Fluence 6/7 are different. Do not regret switching them for Lundgrens :)

I’ve got a set of Fluence Moderns in my Schecter SLS Evil Twin 6 string, and I fell in love with them the moment I first plugged my guitar into a Crate owned by one of my mom’s friends from when she was in High School. I had just received the guitar in the mail that night and whenever my mom and I went over to his place to party and have a few brews, He plugged it straight into the amp and the moment I first played it, it immediately sounded just right for what I was looking to play in Voice 1. With that being said, I’ve been dying to try out a set of Lundgrens for a long time myself. I’ve always been curious about the M series pickups because from all the videos I’ve seen of those pickups you can get them really close to sounding active. With the Fluence Moderns however, I especially love voice 2 just as much as I do voice 1 whenever I boost an amp with an overdrive or a clean midrange boost. I’ve also noticed that with Voice 2 you can get them to sound very close to the old DiMarzio Blaze pickups that Frederik and Mårten were using in their Ibanez Universe guitars, which I thought was really cool.

Thanks for this, was debating between the two but in the 6 string models. I feel like the Fishman is too compressed for my taste, Lundgren more full range and detail. I feel like you could get the Fishman sound with the Lundgren but not the other way around. Assuming you used the Fishman in active mode (I know they can be played passive, right?).
@fortheseven1
@fortheseven1 Жыл бұрын
Here I used Fishman in passive mode. It was the only mode I would use since the day I got the guitar. Active mode is too clancky given that it is a swamp ash guitar with a bolt-on neck. I preferred passive mode better. However, it seems like the only difference between two voicing is low end bump that passive voice has.

I like the Nolly & AXE equally. The Abasi felt fizzy -- maybe it could be dialed in to sound closer to the Nolly? (Although, of course the whole reason to have different amps is that they do different things, I'm sure there's contexts where the Abasi is the right choice).
