It had been in the shop for an oil burning issue, which was fixed, but the bike kept having little things go wrong. Strange throttle map/ fuel ratio issues kept popping up which was concerning.

Ended up trading the MT in for a T7. The MT seemed to ride okay with little to no oil burn after the ring cleaner. I’m seeing a lot of folks that are running into a similar issue on this bike though. One guy was told that the ring tolerances from the factory weren’t correct or had too much deviation from spec. Which might explain why a larger number of folks, with or without aftermarket exhausts, are seeing some oil loss.

@@TylerCharest what year bike is yours? I wonder if they fixed the problem by the next year model. Might this be early 3rd gen year's?
@TylerCharest8 күн бұрын
@@damacknificent151 This was an early 2021 model. Very likely that Yamaha fixed the issue on later production runs.

To my knowledge the chassis material is the same. The subframe structure is modified for 2024

I ride maybe 1 to 2 hours a day maybe for like 2 days a week. Do you think it will be way too loud with the db killer on? Considering I dont have the time to ride long hours
@TylerCharest27 күн бұрын
I would say that it’s too loud to ride with for that long, even with the db killer installed. I’d recommend getting earplugs if you do decide to run the exhaust.

Wind noise was more painful than exhaust noise for me. I always wore triple flange earplugs and that made riding comfortable

The wind noise is significant, particularly on the highway.

When I bought my 24 R7, she came with the s22's. I took her for multiple spins around some twisty roadways. (I love leaning into corners) The tires held really well. Gripping the roads with ease and dominating the wet sectors of the roads, which helped me reduce fear of lowsiding. Awesome tires!

cheers for the true info .I've started to do the mirror on my left side .Its moving round, and without actually clueing the insert in theres no way to stop it from turning at a quick pace. I want to be able to take it out later if needed I might just give up the idea n just keep the standard mirrors . It looks great but if i can't get it properly stuck in theres no point lol
@TylerCharest2 ай бұрын
To stop the mirrors from moving, I cut strips from a metal soda can and used the strips as the insert. It could leave marks on the bar ends, but it stopped the mirror movement. #mirrorhack!

I'm confused as to how you have those issues with ear plugs.... My experience thus far with this motorcycle is that the wind noise is unbearable, nothing to do with exhaust...
@LunarKr3W5 күн бұрын
The use of a quality helmet like Shoei which helps incredibly with wind noise and of one the best brands. The “cool” looking helmets are just that sometimes, cool. I use an RF1200 now and ride an mt09 with the dominatoR exhaust which is really loud, and the exhaust does not bother me. Maybe my hearing isn’t top tier anymore but I don’t understand

After riding both newer models. Which do u perfer? What would be a best choice between the mt09 and mt07? I’m torn between the two. But leaning towards the mt09 with all the electronic aids
@TylerCharest3 ай бұрын
I’m a huge fan of both. I’d say that it would depend on your experience level. If it’s early in your riding journey, I’d recommend starting out on the mt-07 then move to the mt-09 after a couple seasons.
