In the towing industry this would basically be a snatchblock. Using pulleys is amazing. I was told that every properly placed SB is up to 2k lbs of power you don't need overwork yourself. Look at military vids on these.

Hey Dale, I have a Harley Rake like yours, except the controls are different. I'd like to talk with you about the controls as I'm trying to figure it out. Can I provide you with a contact email?....Dan

Thanks very incredible demonstration ! if you pull on a spring balance that's hooked to the holding cable you can measure the force applied and get an idea of the Mechanical Advantage.

Sin ayuda de sistemas hidraulicos pueden hacerse conjuntos de poleas para disminuir la fuerza aplicada y a aumentar la torcion al objeto a mover: principio de palancas.

Why not just dig out of the truck with the bucket and stay in the seat. Grading bucket eliminates the rake too..... Unnecessary

I'm a little confused about the difference of a capstan and a winch, and how they work in combination with pulleys
@LogicalNiko3 жыл бұрын
A capstan is basically a rotating drum able to apply a large amount of torque. The application of that torque depends on the friction between the drum and the line. When you apply tension to the line the line will be have no longer slip on the drum and will apply force to the line.
@stephenrosenthal52522 жыл бұрын
It's the same principles at work here. The real difference is the limitless pull with a capstan. A winch might generally have 50' to maybe 100' of line to pull. Think of a winch as a sealed unit. Where as a capstan never wraps the rope more than three times around the drum. Capstans can be used in situations where hundreds of feet of rope is being pulled. They use them at sea to pull crab cages, on mountains hauling lumber, and for hauling antennas and hardware to the top of cell towers.
@caterpillarslim12882 жыл бұрын
@@stephenrosenthal5252 they're used in pullin powerlines as well
