These guys are my absolute favorites. Their Covid quarantine knitting project helped me so much . Ever since then I've been a follower, a fan. They are down to earth and delightful , inspiring, hard working and always creating beautiful things whether it's an insect hotel or a gorgeous sweater or a patchwork quilt or a wooden Christmas star or a scrap book etc etc. Thanks for allowing them to talk without interruptions !

Yes, when we were in lock down in the U.S., I worked from home and also started watching knitting podcasts which I enjoyed so much and Arne & Carlos were a joy to watch. They are definitely talented in the knitting world!

I can't quite recall how I discovered you, but I did buy your first book, and the patterns for other balls (Christmas and Easter) and the advent sweaters. I did manage to finish the Christmas Stocking too. I love the small projects as a big project would take me too long! I encountered Nathan on the page of my childhood friend Ben Lasky (Ben ImanIdiot Lasky). Nathan was amazing, and I'm deeply grieved at his loss. My deepest sympathies to you. My heart goes out to you. (I studied Chaucer and Middle English lyric in college, too....I hope we can meet in this world, someday.)

I dare to share that Pedro Reyes and Carla Fernandez (husband and wife) are both known as profiteers to artists, artisans. They have achieved (as a couple) the highest of prestige while not paying appropriate wages for their collaborators. Their point is to be perceived as a productive link, when in reality they are an exploiter of everything around them.

This stupid banning of hemp was an initiative of big corporations in the USA: they succeeded in banning hemp farming in the US by creating a deliberate confusion between hemp grown for fiber (not psychoactive) and the psychoactive cultivars of hemp / cannabis sativa . Why? Because the oil industry was developing synthetic fibers like nylon, and plastics, and oil executives saw hemp and its products as a competitor. The cotton and timber industries joined in enthusiastically, and there were campaigns about “reefer madness!” (marijuana smoking) despite the fact that the hemp being farmed in the US was a very different crop. It sounds strange, like one of those conspiracy theories, yet it happened. There was no reason at all to ban such a useful crop - other than that it was so useful and versatile. And having banned it in the US, US occupation authorities banned it in Japan. A very sad story. The hemp plant is so useful in so many different ways. I hope farming hemp can be revived in Jaoan.
