Hey, I have a question that what is the difference between an extraneous variable and a confounding variable?

@StevenWang-wl1bx An extraneous variable is typically a variable we realize may cause a difference in our treatment groups so we do something to control for it. Like if we know age will impact the response and we block on age to fix that. A confounding variable is unique because it can be tied to having an impact not only on the response variable but also on the explanatory variable as well!

for the Dart example problem, im getting a probability of 0.0384 instead of 0.064, seems like you forgot to multiply by 0.6 after doing o.4^3, unless im misunderstanding how you do the formula

I’m a grade 12 student and I’m taking pre calculus.When we go to our class our teacher starts to yap for 1 hour and 30 minutes and then at the end of the day when I ask other people in the class they say we didn’t understand anything just like the other units and we have to go home and learn it ourselves Luckily there is a part in our text book that teaches us so basically that’s our saviour for every unit And the only thing I wasn’t sure about was these three types of graphs and he explained perfectly I go to Carson Graham secondary school If anyone goes there or went there and wants the teacher name they can just ask😂

Why does 9 being the midline make the value d equal to 9?

@vertexfx7028 d is how many units the function is translated up or down. The midline of a trig function is always y = 0, so if you move up or down d units the midline is then y = d

Was something accidentally cut out of this video? I feel like the first question about the 10 people was never answered and instead the probability that four people have a wart was answered. I believe the answer to the first question written in blue on the whiteboard goes like this: Since the probability of a person having a wart is 30%, we can expect, on average, 30% of the people (3 people) in the 10 person sample will have a wart. You obtain this answer by multiplying the sample size (10) by the probability (30% or 0.3). Maybe I'm wrong?

@JLKeener77 you are correct, I was simply pointing out that with 10 people, yes 30% or 3 are most likely to be successful but 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 successes are also possible and the binomial model can find any of those probabilities.

@nicholasyip1315 not out dated at all. The AP classroom has videos over each topic, but in my opinion they don't dive very deep into those topics. They do a few examples and that is it. My topic videos go into way more detail for each and every topic with more examples. Hope you find they help!

THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAVE MY CHAPTER 6 (4.6-4.12) QUIZ TOMORROW AND I AM STRESSING (basically i got a 97 last quarter in my ap stat class, but i got a 79 on my Chapter 4 test (Unit 3) and then a 50 on my chapter 5 test (4.1-4.6) so rn in ap stat i have a 75. If i fail this test its going to ruin my GPA (this is freshmen year) because i wont be able to get it back up. so i thank you for these vids and im so mad that i didnt find u sooner

Hi Michael, I noticed that you prefer to use "mean" rather than "average" in your videos. I not sure whether I can use these two words interchangeably in AP exam. Emmm, could you advise further about this, maybe in the context of answering FRQs? Many thanks! Jasper
