I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and left when I was 44. At 67 my views have changed so much that my family thinks I am a different person. They are right. I started college when I was 49 and studied social science and history. I hated what that religion has done to so many people.

I am also in b.c. i recently left a korean church which has hallmark signs of being a cult.

I had to giggle hearing some of your stories they sounded so familiar. I’m 70 now and am a CSA survivor I left at the age of 21 but having all my family in your still attached in some way. Wow this is really helped me to understand Republican so called conservative politics. I never understood it before. Thinking about organized religion at 14 years of age. If you would wait much longer, it would be more difficult. Probably children, as young as 7 years old find religious content suspect. They just think that it will be better explained later. The fact is, a better explanation never comes.

I think it is pretty obvious that this era is in slow mo crumble, the way every civilization dies. Canada is in danger from the fallout of our very messy demise. I would love to escape to Canada, but my family is here, in denial. i am an 81 yr old grumpy woman on Social Security, and my SS is about to be sucked up by the criminal organization about to come into power, so Canada does not want me knocking on the border gate. Ah well, such is life. And death.

Divorcing is one good word to describe leaving... My divorce was more like an 'Exorcism.' I eliminated, extinguished, destroyed... the evil this western religion was trying to indoctrinate myself and humanity into believing its 'doctrine.' My first clue this was an evil cult? FEAR.
