I loved this DLC, but I confess that this boss was the most annoying thing about this incredible game, it's a battle that makes us lose the desire to play the game, because it's unbalanced, boring, there's no time to have fun. Mesmer and Radhan are also difficult but the battles are incredible. And this Gaius is immensely tedious, boring, it discourages me until I make another NG+ just because of this rubbish! I hope From fixes this Boss, which for me was a big mistake in this DLC

yeah bullshit.. this "cheese" strat you're showing here doesn't work anymore... i think the devs fixed this "cheese" with the new v1.13 update, because Gaius is coming straight for me, and doesn't run into the wall anymore...

I stumbled upon this cheese strat after trying to beat Gaius for a couple hours legitimately. His moveset would be fine if his hitboxes for the charge weren't as busted as they are now. I feel no remorse for cheesing Gaius. I managed to beat Bagle the Dread at Scadu 5 while this poise monster was trashing me at Scadu 12. Easily a contender for least fun Fromsoft boss. Edit: Greatshield Soldier Ashes is a lifesaver here too. They target the boss a bit more intently than Mimic Tear and there's 5 of the little guys for Gaius to focus on. The new crystal tear that heals allies also helps.

This is the most bs boss in the entire dlc. He moves like a spaz, leaves little if any room for reaction, he reaches you with any random move he does almost at any point in the arena one shots your horse and the hitboxes GOD the hit boxes. Just his charge has 1.000.000 active frames but it seems like all his movements deal damage at random its a slog to go through every time. Just killed him for my 4th run and it was a bitch to do with blood arcane arts

Thank you so much bro. I'm so stubborn I was like im not getting off until I kill this mf. Got him down to 1/8 health bar and for the next hour couldn't do it again. I didn't have mohgs spear or remembrance or enough arcane (only had 25) so I went on a mission for duplicating it, getting arcane to 27, then upgrading it +10 lmao

This is easily one of the best cheeses for this boss and the most risk free

you can outrun his charge attack on horseback and his swings don't hit if you ride towards him right beside him and you can hit him twice for free. his flurry with the mount that ends in a downward thrust have time for 2-3 hits after it ends. His rock sling is slow. His Radahn gravity spin has limited range. His gravity orb he rarely uses has limited range and is telegraphed. His phase 2 windup AoE is slow and lets you get a hit or 2 without taking damage. The conjured spikes from the ground can be dodged everytime by spamming sprint/dodge button on horse. The only 2 attacks that are a bit difficult to dodge is his twirling arrow with AoE and when the boar looks sideways coming towards you to swipe upwards with the tusks. the arrow is dodged by going parallel in the same direction as him with some medium distance in between, so it goes behind you and the head sideways boar tusk swipe can be jumped or outran if you ride anywhere but away from or towards him unless you have enough distance to begin with so he interrupts the attack. He's not that fucky, just on foot he is fucked if you don't use light roll or ashes of war since the hitboxes are huge. Cool concept but lame that you can't choose to fight on foot without it feeling like he's cheating with the roll-catches that visually shouldn't hit and feel unintuitive. also Lion and Relanna were harder imo, this guy just had to be learned and then execution was easy. Other bosses have way more changeable combos and heal interrupts and instant punishes based on button inputs and player distance. I dislike the Curseblades and yellow Horned Knights more than Gaius.

Finally beat this boss had a mimic and blashtmious blade and just used that left wall and alternated between on side to the other it doesn't like takers flame!! Took about 20 tried but done
