My uncle, who had a little antique shop in his later years, left me his record collection as we'd talked about music a lot and he knew I was big into underground/experimental stuff, along with tons of music made before I was born. Anyway - I was pretty shocked when I saw an original pressing of "Buy" in there. Thanks for leaving me your records, uncle.

Devo played at this festival when they were doing their "DOVE, The Band of Love" shtick (basically a Devo set slightly rearranged to sound like a Christian rock band). They took parts of this song and sang Bob Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody" over it at a New Year's Eve show a few months later.

Being a branch of New Wave/Punk, the No Wave bands exhausted their vision quickly, and went normal and mainstreamish in startlingly drastic proportions, and I was the only one I knew who noticed.

12:15 I love the way No Wave bands experimented. This, what else sounds like this?

Odd that many No Wave bands featured slide. Slide isn't very "New York", lol. But who can argue with the results. I wouldn't change a thing.
