This is something I really struggle with to the point where I get burnt out and then don't even want to to look at tarot or reiki for a long time. I sometimes get frustrated when I'm so tired and become a bit resentful, because I'm so tired. Is it just me ? This video helps a lot.

Hi Sal, you had recently shared making a decision on turning our group into exchange only readings. What was the verdict on this? I feel there are a lot of freeloaders that are simply joining to get readings, because I see the same members (no offense) asking the same question various times on various groups. No offense meant to you, but it becomes frustrating in the learning journey, because of the lack of commitment from the other person. In terms of feedback I mean. As for an exchange, I can not say enough positive things about my experience, and the fact that it has turned into a friendship with the person, vs a one-off if that makes sense.

Hey lovely- thanks for reaching out and let me know- and no offence taken- I totally understand that the learning can become really frustrated when people use you for free readings- I do the best I can to stop that- unfortunately when there are over 10,000 people in a group - you can only offer guidelines- and ask people to abide by them- (and if they repeatedly break the rules you can remove them- and I do let all students know when they join the group to reach out to me if someone hasn't given feedback- and I will tag them in the group at the end of the month to remind them. As I shared in the video in the group the word 'feedback' can get very tricky (which is why I included the feedback template to send to every person. And some people may feel they HAVE given feedback- but the reader may feel it wasn't enough to justify their time. And while yes- the group does have people that are just using readers- The group has always mostly had very good people- (which I am lucky) and juggling the small amount of people that use readers for readings- vs the small amount of people who use the group to build their business and get testimonials for their business and get angry at me and the students who don't give them big enough reviews for testimonials- it's just a balancing act- And then there are people like you- who just want to practice and learn and don't care about getting business testimonials- who unfortunately get stuck in the middle by the first category. But it may help you to know- with this situation- (people getting a reading off you then asking the same question in another group) Every reader experiences this. no matter what group- and what level they are at in their learning journey. Whether beginner or professional. I know it hurts and is frustrating- but it might help you to know- this will happen to you as well when you are a professional reader- there will be clients who will see you- you will do your best to give them 1 hour of your time- then next week they will go and see someone else. It can be hard to take it personally- but rather- i would just take it that this person has a lot of anxiety around the issue and you have done the best you can. I am so glad you found a great exchange person! That is wonderful news. So I haven't officially made the announcement yet (this takes months to implement because not everyone gets notifications so it has to be a slow process to avoid mass confusion) but I received a lot of feedback from members of the group who said they still wanted the option to offer readings without an exchange- because sometimes they didn't want a reading- but they wanted to practice! So they felt they didn't need to get a reading all the time- but wanted to get better at practicing. I also got a lot of people who reached out to me and said they didn't want to be forced to exchange or get feedback- that sometimes they just wanted to practice even without feedback (which isn't my favourite- but its their choice of what they prefer so I do have to consider that) . So I have taken everyone's contributions into account and will made some small additional changes to do what I can to prevent the ones who are using the group for free readings- at this stage it looks like I may start a separate group for more specific purposes- but i just need to think on this some more- So I will do a big announcement soon with some new changes- that will hopefully balance the needs of everyone- but for now- just stick with the exchanges- they seem to be working for you- and this is soo wonderful that you have connected with someone. . I agree with you, I think it's very important to try to know our energy in a relationship and above all, our self energy towards love and life in general. The 9 of Cups is a very funny card, it reminds me of a man who ate and drink well and now is feeling he is the happiest person in the world, even if it's just for some hours 😅Please I would like to ask if you could explain why the card of Justice is eventually a good card for relationships. hey sweetie- great question! And I am so glad you enjoyed the video on my fave love card- I agree with you about the 9- the joy and fulfillment feeing! So justice is such a good card for love relationships for a few different reasons. Firstly- it can be seen as the marriage card (or long term commitment) because of the scales of justice- and her- representing legal issues - if there are other love cards in the reading- this can indicate contracts being signed (like marriage or leases etc) But in general Justice is the card of balance (divine balance) and it's lesson that it offers is you find balance in your romantic beliefs and feelings (whether you are single or in a relationship) - it is the karmic card of acknowledging what you are DOING or thinking that may be sabataging your relationships- and choosing not to do it anymore. Your energy thus shifts and you are attracting more aligned harmonious relationships which symbolise deeper commitments. Does that make sense? Love Sal

Why use crystals and sandalwood burners etc then if ethics are the only danger? Also, you say swap readings, instead of charging to increase confidence and knowledge. Is that not having too many readings that you warn about? Loving the course, just need clarification please.

Hey lovely! Great question! So I didn't touch on psychic protection in this tutorial- because I wanted to mainly focus on the actual practice of reading and learning tarot- but I do have other ones that talk about psychic protection and taking on the energy of others- and the dangers of that (didn't want to do overwhelm with too many dangers in one video 😂 but you are right- its a bit confusing to leave that chestnut out of the risks associated- so I will make another one that focuses specifically on that and make it a bit clearer! Sorry if this is confusing about the swapping readings: - I am a huge fan of charging once you feel ready- this is a GOOD thing for me- what worries me is people who are giving away tons of free readings- getting exhausted and feeling demoralised - when they could be building up their confidence by exchanging a reading with someone else (for me this tends to feel better in my experience) and you can avoid people who are just using you for free readings- but will never support your business if you want to grow a business. Does that make more sense? Love Sal

I agree with so much of this, and have even tried to say many of the same things in tarot communities. It is very see so people hurt themselves through trying to scry on their romantic interests. One of my biggest fears about reading for other people is trying to set boundaries with a person who is in that kind of pain and mindset. This has given me two things to think on. The advice to choose one source to start with is great. I restarted my journey with your course and have never been more confident with tarot. That question about how people would feel about being constantly spied on was also a great idea.

Thank you! This was so helpful. I experience mediumship like you and I was so confused and couldn’t understand what was happening. Sometimes clients deceased loved ones just pop in randomly so clear but if I’m asked, I can’t intentionally connect. These “random pop ins” started happening spontaneously out of nowhere too….,super overwhelming. Your video really helped, I thought I was broken lol

Thanks for this. I'm from South Africa and have done a few of Sal's courses and have been reading for around 2 years at markets and fayres. Some really good tips, thanks Scarlet. 😊 In South Africa I have Yoco as a payment system and also have a little card device, that's attched to the payment portal, which makes payments very effective. We are limited in alternative / holostic events, and I have tried some other markets like thrift markets, which have been quite successful.
