Of course! I play modern Ed myself, the DP and instant fireball are actually a big deal. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable in the neutral. Highly recommend trying it out!

@@highlion8998 He has M. shoulder bash on down special and H. shoulder bash is part of his heavy autocombo, which works out because s.HP is the only natural way to combo into H. shoulder bash. I do agree most of his special shortcuts suck but that goes for most modern characters imo, I do the manual motions unless there is some benefit to inputting them with the shortcut

@@oskardacat6748 It's a bit tricky, but burn knuckle is only super cancellable if you hit with the beginning of burn knuckle. Try doing burn knuckle as late as possible if you must, so that you get the super cancellable hitbox

Definitely his hardest combo! You have to combo crackshoot as late as possible after the power charge so that crackshoot gets 3 hits, then OD quick burn will combo

That fireball whip and snake step tip are so handy! Idk if I’ll ever use that level 2 punish but it’ll help to remember I can’t just normal punish it.

Great vid/possible series. I thought about just covering modern vs classic optimal combos meself. Most modern characters have very different optimal combos.

What does modern akuma lose compared to classic?

Modern Akuma loses his f.mp overhead, c.mp, j.lp, j.mk, j.hk, and is unable to perform light or heavy versions of demon raid or adamant flame. The super combo page for each character has a neat list of changes between classic and modern!
