Emily Puffer You can, they're just saying it wasn't mandatory for vehicle manufacturers to include latch bars in their vehicles until 2002. Before then only some were included in certain makes and models.

My grandson is only 14 months old but his hight and weight surpasses 2 years old.. also his car seat is for only 30 lb rear facing and he is 35lb. Is it safe to still keep in rear facing position?

Sehara should change to front facing position, due to his height n weight it might cause to break his leg or break his chest clip or lock when something happens, hope this help

@@SiuGwai This is not valid advice. I'm sorry. It is not just height and weight, but many other considerations; most rear-facing models easily accommodate a child this size. Rear facing is always the safest. A broken leg is preferable to a ruptured spleen. As for the chest clip, it's actually made to break in a significant crash. It is mainly there to ensure that the belts are tight enough to retain the child, not to actually retain the child itself. Did it not have this added feature of breakability, a child's sternum could be fractured, or pressure could cause cardiac tamponade. For Sehara or anyone else reading; contact your local children's hospital or Head Injury Foundation and ask for your local car seat tech's number. These people are better equipped to advise you of such things than we are. And they are not to charge for their services!

Muy buen video, solo me preocupa la especificación de edad de 2 a 4 años.... es recomendable usar el arnes de 5 puntos el mayor tiempo posible, hasta llegar a los limites máximos de estatura y peso del asiento.....

I see myself in some of these clips... Especially trying the get the seatbelt to stay extended long enough to get it thru the car seat and clicked in... Some seats are not designed very well.

Fortunately here in Cincinnati we have such a great resource through Cincinnati Children's. My wife and I just got our second car seat installed in preparation for our second addition. Found out from the installer that the seats we had were expired. Who knew they expired, not me :) Thanks again Cincinnati Children's!!
