1:15 You can't see it anymore from Beach Blvd, but there's an office park with a moat(!) to the left. Everything from the light to Heil was still a working farm until the late Seventies. It was an empty field waiting to be developed when we moved out, now a Target and strip mall.

1:58 Turn left here and left again at Westmont is where I grew up decades ago. The only thing that was here at the intersection that's still here is Huntington Beach Chrysler/Dodge/Etc. It was called Beach City Dodge then Beach Blvd Dodge. The little strip mall that Top Hat Liquor is in just past the intersection, and the big warehousy building just past it were there, too, and that's pretty much it. Kinda blows my mind that hole in wall Top Hat is still there. There was actually a small horse farm at the corner there until the late Seventies across from Dodge that a retired show horse, Serrano, lived until he died. Heil was only two lanes at the intersection until they expanded it where the horse farm was.

I'm from Nebraska and lived in Santa Ana and Tustin. in the 80s. Precious memories . Zebs boathouse. And this mex rest. LaFontanda??. Ton 80 dart bar. Ordered hamburger steak. Not a taco. Lol. The smell of the city . All makes me almost cry . Sentimental. Growing up in a farm town of 200 people was an unbelievable experience for a 22 year old. I will say they had almost zero street vendors in them days. And also note I remember seeing or hearing of little or no crime.. a very conservative city. Has itt changed ?
