So what you are saying is that sayoc kali advocates bringing a weapon against a man who doesn't have one? Are you sure, legally speaking, that's a good idea? I mean, maybe if the guy is bigger and stronger but even then, there are legal ramifications for going above and beyond the force required to stop a threat. It sounds like you are teaching people to go for the kill, and take advanatage of those that are weaker as opposed to laying out a logical use of force sequence. I am pretty sure if you enter in on a guy trying to punch with a cut that punctures the jugular, you will have to answer for it. Especially if others see it as your first move in response to the situation. The presence of the weapon is supposed to remind us why not to fight, not drive our ego. Once you decide to carry a weapon, particulary a firearm, your life changes and you must be willing to walk away from battles for the ego.

Always thought trapping was a foundational aspect of FMA . But I keep seeing it refer to asJKD. It’s not a big deal, just curious. It does however work and work well as a means to an end.
@harleyelmore334Ай бұрын
You are right, both JKD and FMA have great foundational trapping. Most people just choose one or the other and use and train it.

all true, but most jurisdictions won't let you carry a fixed blade knife for almost any reason.

The lighting seriously makes so much more of a difference than most people will realize. I train a lot outdoors and it is just incredible how much harder the punches are to see when you're sparring in dusk conditions or when your opponent has the sun or an evening streetlight in his back. Lighing matters a lot!

These techniques alone or in combination can be extremely useful if built into muscle memory thru repetitions. However it's also an art form that has ancient history behind it. Any doubts on real world application? Go visit Guro Elmore. He is a great educator and has amazing skills too.

why they always teach how to defend vs a random lv1 female char . do u imagine having a knife for real, all those blackmagic vudu techniques will be doomed . like in prison assault between inmates.. when they have that edged knife...they stab u 10 times in 5 seconds, same for street
