I find drawing every day to be very important, if you are trying to be a real professional artist. Now not all of the old masters did it everyday, but they spents hours on their paintings when they did, some spending a exstream amount of time on one large painting, taking a break, then going to the next. Everyone is differant but the same thing everyone has is spending a lot of time on their art and treating it like a real job. Unless art is just your passion and not a job, then it can be treated differantly.

The first page reminded me of a piece of advice that I once read in a book about making comics. It was somewhere along the lines of "don't make the character change direction from one panel to the next, as it could be visually confusing to some readers"; so if he's walking toward the right in the first panel, he shouldn't go to the left in the second, and then again to the right. I figured I'd share this with you. Wish I could remember the name of the book...
@user-qc1yv3he2t27 күн бұрын
Hi! I'd be willing to bet the book was either Understanding Comics or Making Comics (both by Scott McCloud). Although I do think it's easier to get away with breaking the 180 rule with a comic than with a movie (where the rule started I think).

I agree, the best thing any artist can do is to start. When making something, there's always the fear of whether it's good enough or what the people will think. It's important to remember that your first project is never your best, and mostly is not going to be that good, but atleast you tried. Now you have something to learn from, and every project from then onwards is going to be better than the last.

These videos do inspire me to continue working on my own comic. I haven't started any panels yet and really am still working on characters and the story (its only been about a year since I had the idea and the basic premise, story and characters have changed a lot.) I think a big thing for me is getting the srtstyle done, because i do try to have a death metal black and white art style for most of my random drawings but for the comic itself the artstyle is more inspired by Mike Mignola and Gris Grimly. Its a comedic dark fantasy comic based mostly on slavic mythology. The main characters are Hans, who is a tall & lanky deformed guy who wears a helmet at all times to hide his face, and 2 mushroom people named Weed & Twig. One is more relaxed 3 feet tall and the other is a bit crazy and about 6 inches tall. Anyway sorry if i went on too long, but thanks for making these videos. I checked out your comic on the webtoon page and it looks fun! Best of luck to you and your family

Really cool, ive read the 3 episodes of chapter one you have released of the comic, i like the classic fantasy vibes it has to it, but i do think the reason why zeemo is helping crystal should be explored more, something other than just "its the right thing to do" or something like that, also if youre ever planning on making more videos like this one, you say "um" and "uh" a lot, like nearly between every phrase, wish you the best.

Very nice! Did you get this template from somewhere or make it yourself? I love that it's letter sized so almost home printer friendly!
@zachmotartАй бұрын
Thanks! I got this template from mixam! It’s a print on demand service that I’m planning on using once the comic is done to make a physical copy for myself (or copies depending on interest). If you go on their website and pick a printing format they give you a downloadable template with it

I was always intrigued in making comics and I have done some however I only shared them with friends and I was still horrible at drawing however, I have gained experience 5 years later and now I can draw better so I will take this as sign to start again (Exuse the bad grammar if any and for the long essay)

I can relate. It's so easy to nitpick your own work to an extreme degree, even down to the minute details of a piece. Especially when you're not super confident in that moment. It's so important to let stuff slide, get into the flow, and relax.

I like traditional and I also like digital traditional was costing a lot of money I don't know if it's cheaper to do comic books traditionally then animation man I had sales everywhere and I was like I'm going digital you still make a pretty cool looking comic book with digital you can draw it out then scan it in the picture

Yep, the new banner looks pretty good. I read the comic, it's alright, not too special, but I like the cartoony artstyle, and the fact it's a step better then most webtoons trashy comics. It's neat.
