if you do this every time won't the racket become damaged?... I'd rather bend over to grab it than scratch my rackets

Yea u made a point, but this technique is used in official badminton matches so that you don’t lose energy, don’t make your posture bad by bending every time, and saves time

I hope you are popular. Badminton is a severely underrated sport for the West. Total fun and easy to play with a lot of room for improvement.

7:44 very interesting that he prioritizes gym work . Makes sense when he doesn’t necessarily have the optimal singles sparring set up despite the other Canadians best efforts .

A lot of athletes do prioritize gym work especially before and during tournaments. It keeps the body explosive without putting too much volume on court which we don’t want too close to a tournament!

The actual name is shuttlecock. Birdie or bird is a nickname but professionally it’s shuttles.

Hey Coach, how about from bevel grip to pan handle?
@markchandler7089
@markchandler7089 Жыл бұрын
I like the image of the racket lined up with the court center line! I also like using the net as a guide. Kids can learn the words 'racket FACE, and EDGE, which helps. Once they get to the net, panhandle works for net-kill or spike but the feed is important. A good feed lets the cork hit the racket face and keeps the feeder in a safe spot. Thanks for all your posts!

The part about wording advice with positive wording is so true! If you tell someone "Don't think of a pink elephant!" They're going to picture a pink elephant lol. The same ia true for tips in a game. For example: "Don't hit it into the net" vs "Just keep it over the net." Or "Don't hit cross-court" vs "Keep it straight!" Or "Don't lift so much" vs "Drive more, be more aggressive". Etc. Feedback worded in a positive way and centered specifically on the message you want the player to understand is the way to go!

You need a very fast shuttle to clear that way. No one can do that with a medium plastic shuttle

Hi, first of all, I really like your videos! Straight to the point and really nice explanations - please keep making videos. I wanted to ask if you have any information on training on my own. I am currently trying to shuttle feed myself and I am practising deceptions/net shots, everything else is not really possible at home. The ceiling is not high enough, so unfortunately I cannot practise overhead hitting motions. But are there any things I can really work on at home, myself? Apart from physical work/training obviously. And how do I feed myself correctly? I am only now getting into it and it's quite the task ... I would appreciate even the smallest tip! Thank you :)
