Nobody has ever had a problem with people who use their actual homes that they personally live to rent out for people. All you did here was make up a straw man since the actual conversation is about larger scale landlords who are buying properties in bulk and driving living cost through the roof.

I’m going to disagree with you on that one big dog

@@chrisnvestor I’ll reply to the comment you made to me soon, but I do indeed believe you are strawmanning, most likely for engagement. While I cannot say this is inherently bad, since a lot of creators do it, I will say that, it may be better to create content that engages an audience who likes your personality, rather than trying to rally haters. You’ll get haters no matter what, but if you want clients for your AirBnb stuff, you might want to make content that engages the client, and makes them like your personality, rather than going for people who are haters, or people who hate the haters exclusively. From the way this video was presented, even if I was a fan of AirBnb’s the presentation would not make me want to engage any more than a like.
@chrisnvestor Жыл бұрын
I made this video bc it was funny. I get hate almost daily for what I do by listing my own personal residence on Airbnb. There's no "strawman" here. My content isn't based around the haters. I get great engagement with everything that is focused on my audience. This video is for my audience because it pokes fun at Karens and Kens. I don't have anything to sell. People want to learn how to do this and what it takes to succeed. I could make money off of it, but do you understand what it's like to live rent free in your own home? Can you imagine that? Like how much of a relief would that be? That's where people can start. Then if they save all those mortgage payments, they can buy an Airbnb that cashflows 5-7k/month. They can quit their jobs and do the things they love instead. Investors aren't ruining the housing market. It's competition. Supply and demand. Real estate agents' clients don't lose to investors unless they house is an actual dump or if it's so expensive that it's a bidding war of the 1%. The strawman is the investor stealing houses from the common people like us.

Great and all but this isn’t good on a larger scale, no one’s mad about SINGLE AirBnB’s, they dislike the fact that there are so many of them (in some places) that entire NEIGHBORHOODS that could be for people living in the area just become tourist traps
@cheerycherrydoggo Жыл бұрын
Also, I don’t think anyones really gonna be mad at you for living in the house AND making it an AirBnb. People are upset with those who buy MANY homes/apartments and don’t live in them, just AirBnB to tourists and such.
@chrisnvestor Жыл бұрын
“Airbnbs” and “Short Term Rentals” are only the new name for “Vacation Rentals”. Beaches, National Parks, Mountains, Ski Resorts. No one’s been mad about those since they keep entire towns and cities alive and even thriving in some cases. Economic boost comes from the “tourist traps” as you’ve labeled them. I think you’re greatly underestimating the stunning positive affects of Short Term Rentals
@cheerycherrydoggo Жыл бұрын
@@chrisnvestor Short Term Rentals, on a small scale, are fine. Renting your apartment to some tourists and making some money on the side, while still LIVING in the house, ay-okay. Nobody’s complaining about that. Even having one or two AirBnb’s that you don’t live in and just rent out is fine too. (My family even owns one in Jamaica, so I can’t be 100% against the idea, or that’d be hypocrisy.) What people dislike are Short term rentals on an industrial scale. AirBnB people buying out neighborhoods and residential blocks, for tourists without anyone living in those homes is the problem. It not only increases cost of living for actual residents, but it also hurts businesses who rely on long term residents (grocery stores, furniture stores, etc) and instead makes way for souvenir and tourist shops specifically for those new people there. The increased cost forces landlords to have no choice but to make their properties AirBnb’s to compete, and all this drives away locals. Economically, in some ways, yes, it is making towns more money in theory, but is it really a town if there are no locals, who instead, have to live on the outskirts of these places and have to commute how many minutes or hours to work, and then back home? Is it really a place if all the beauty and community is replaced with this industry that only cares for profit? Short term rentals on an industrial scale isn’t fair to the locals, Business owners, communities, landlords (in some cases), and honestly, the tourists too. Instead of experiencing life in this place with others who live there around them and actively partaking in the culture, they now experience a place riddled with tourist traps and lack of genuine..anything. Masking a culture now lost to the industries. Back to you, this isn’t what you are doing (obviously), but AirBnB’s can aid in causing a housing crisis when multiplied on a much much bigger scale. You will not be ridiculed for owning an AirBnb. You will be, instead, for pushing haters onto your platform by underplaying an actual issue that affects others. Take your time to inform others about the AirBnb’s that you sell and your courses, and even a bit of nuance into the crisis will allow others to appreciate you and your content more. You don’t have to farm hate for views. You CAN, but it may not be the best way to go if you are trying to sell your knowledge/AirBnB.
@chrisnvestor Жыл бұрын
Airbnb isn’t the problem. If what you said is true, if, then cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and DC are problems and causing markets to crash. Heck, any city. But that’s only if you’re right. Second, where do you want me to send the hate comments? I get them almost daily 😂. I’ve made 58 pieces of content and this is the first one that I’ve even addressed haters. That’s 1.7%. So I don’t care what you think because you’re not my audience. The other 1.6k people who watched the video all the way through are my audience and so are the 4 subscribers I gained from the video. Go make your own content where you don’t encourage people to think for themselves, try new things, fail, be creative, and push themselves to their limits. I guarantee you’ll have a large audience 👍🏽 Third, I’m not selling anything. Go ahead and look everywhere. If you find something, let me know because I think they owe me money 😂. But if you want to openly lie in the comments section, then I can’t stop you. You get the last comments. The floor is yours. I will not respond unless you ask me to. I hope you have a good night.
@cheerycherrydoggo Жыл бұрын
@@chrisnvestor glad you addressed the crisis. Also, I haven’t watched ALL your content, however, in the couple I’ve seen, they’ve sounded a bit condescending, I’m just offering suggestions on how a different approach would allow for more encouraging supporters. Also, on my main accounts, I actually am a content creator. This is my side account for all my playlists, so you don’t have to tell me about content creation dude. I’m not FORCING you to do anything, it’s just a suggestion. Plus a comment online literally can’t do that anyway. Also, I don’t think you’re a sellout attempting to make a ton of money, but from what I’ve seen, it looked like you were ‘selling’ other on your knowledge, and this is a technical way of advertising your own AirBnB. Maybe getting hate comments daily should be a reflection of what you put out there. I don’t get many hate comments on the media I produce on my main account, and I don’t think that’s something that happens every single day for someone with the amount of followers you have. (No hate, just saying.) Anyways, thanks for your time.

If you watched the video, then you’re saying that the “housing bubble inflation” is caused by people like me buying my own house, living in that house, and renting out my unused space in the very house I live in? That’s a super weird opinion to have.
