I was listening this autumn 2009 and searching home. I found it spring 2010 in Christ Jesus 🩵

The intro to Song For Clay is so insane and powerful. How on earth did these guys get the indie rock curse of ppl only caring about the first album

Today marks the 14th Year Anniversary (22nd July 2010) of me experiencing the sound of Burial & Clubroot for the first time. It was during the Golden Age of Xbox 360 (when lastfm was still available). I was scrobbling through my usual choice of Dubstep, Dancehall, Reggae and Grime until I was hit with: - Clubroot - Serendipity Dub - And then right after, Bloc Party - Where Is Home? (Burial Remix). I've been listening to these two artists ever since. I'll be leaving this comment as a sort of virtual time capsule on all associated videos I can find for me to possibly find in the future.

This recording… would be in my list of top 5 recordings of human kind. Brings tears of nostalgic bliss listening to the end drop and perfect bass/chord transitions. One of those rare moments an excited group of young people catch a scenes zeitgeist and youthful angst, and hope, bottled up in one song, perfectly on one recording, knowing they’re on to something. How ephemeral the recording session is compared to the everlasting effects of that moment

How good is this song- lyrically, performance-wise and just how sentimental and touching it is. Really a masterpiece.

Lucean, Im so tired of flesh and blood My lord has grown so vile Shamefullness descends upon the shoulders Kicking the corpse untill the fun wares off Bleeding septums and S41 Talking needs to the sun comes up Rich boys they just need a hand or hand down From papa Wouldnt it be too divine With a start, middle and an end Wouldnt it be too divine If we could see a way out Wouldnt it be too divine With a start, middle and an end Wouldnt it be too divine If we could see a way out Theres a blizzard in the after hours bars Raining my way down the strand Who are these fags in the red bow ties ruining it for the rest of us Self content for the young, the younger beset that hirstoy will always eat itself Rich boys they just need a hand or a good old fashioned war Wouldnt it be too divine With a start, middle and an end Wouldnt it be too divine If we could see a way out Wouldnt it be too divine With a start, middle and an end Wouldnt it be too divine If we could see a way out

This is a classic Bloc Party B-Side that I ignored for so many years. Now this is me returning to it for the first time. The sentiment in the song resurfaces in me from time to time.

[Kele Okereke] Feeding the five thousand Was not done with prayers alone And it takes blood and guts And it takes devotion I'm so tired of standing up And so tired of drawing breath Now it's your turn to take the map And it's your turn to drop the soap and [Kele Okereke & Gordon Moakes] We got pretty, pretty boys sucking on a cola Money to burn, money to burn (Money to burn) We got rules to protect you Isaac and Ishmael The magazine says it's okay A life as a billboard And if you are the answer We are going straight to hell [Gordon Moakes & Kele Okereke] Grown in a parental fugue (And I know, and I know, and I know, and I know) Weight loss in self-respect (We'll fatigue, we'll fatigue, we'll fatigue, we'll sprint slow) Bomb, bomb, bomb us back together (And we fought, and we fought, and we fought, and we fought) A new way into a lost answer (We fought for you) [Kele Okereke & Gordon Moakes] You could talk a little less And you could talk a little less And you could talk a little less And you could talk a little less [Kele Okereke] Feeding the five thousand Was not done with prayers alone And it takes blood and guts And it takes devotion I'm so tired of standing up And so tired of drawing breath Now it's your turn to take the map And it's your turn to drop the soap and [Gordon Moakes & Kele Okereke] Grown in a parental fugue (And I know, and I know, and I know, and I know) Weight loss in self-respect (We'll fatigue, we'll fatigue, we'll fatigue, we'll sprint slow) Bomb, bomb, bomb us back together (And we fought, and we fought, and we fought, and we fought) A new way into a lost answer (We fought for you) [Instrumental Outro]

When I listen to that Song, I feel transported Back to my youth, where i was deeply in love for the first time. Everything was so easy and warm and Soft. There was hope and freedom and so much excitement whats about to come. I loved that Summer! And I love Bloc Party for this memory and the Smile, that comes automatically while listening to that Song <3
