I have had my pole for a few years and as it ages it has developed a bad shifting noise especially when cueing. Would cleaning like this potentially fix that issue and get it back to being a reliable pole?

What kind of Grease/lubrication do you guys use for the knuckles? Also, I've got a friction noise between the inside of 2nd stage pole, and the spacer rings on the 3rd stage. As if it ceases, and then releases millimeters when I turn the pole left and right. Especially bad when it is extended
