Those Bauers are EXPENSIVE....they were expensive then...and they are expensive NOW. Warning - some of the Bauers comes with tiny decals...DO not run those cars around the track...the decals WILL and DO come off! Bauers are better left as "eye candy" on your shelf folks!

Great review. That Porsche 911 Wrangler body looks like it's from the Carrera Servo 160 slotless series which is why the rear wheel hubs are so large. The Servo 160 chassis had big rear wheels, bigger than their slot car brothers. Carrera used many of the same body models for both the slotted and slotless cars of that era. I have the Carrera Servo 160 slotless sets which were the late '70s German version of TCR slotless racing. If you're interested, I can send you a set-up with cars and track to review - my complements. Also, lots of Servo slotless vids on youtube. Let me know.

We would pull off ~40 turns off each pole, then before soldering back to the comm, we would balance the arm via removing more wire for the heavy pole.

What crap this is. I've raced tjets tuff ones and AFX 's since 1969 at 10 years old. All you need to know is a few simple things. Keep the car spotless clean, how to adjust brush tension, where to lightly oil, and good tires(silicone) for traction. I was here from the first playing mantis/johnny lightning stuff to the current ultra g's/X tractions. I have all my old aurora cars and about 1,000 ultra g /xtractions. All you have to do with these new cars is take them out of the package and put them on the track. Almost every time the car will just plain COOK! Fast as hell! Loose rear axle and sloppy gears and all! Anyone who takes one of these cars out of the package and tears it down without even testing it is a fool! If a car isnt working well, which is rare, then you use your HO skills to work it. Auto world cars are FAST, even with all the slop and grease.
