Keep in mind if anyone is trying to get this in 2022 the packs straps can be slid up and down rather then fixed in place

For people who just scan through youtube videos without watching in details: 1) What is the exact model of vest you are showing? 2) You should show the whole pack so people know what it actually looks like. (You did show one photo I think) 3) I would love to see you actually using the hose to drink since I have issue with Nathan Trailmix 12L. 4) Hope you should how to use the storage. Thanks for the video.

Hello Professor, Why do they call the trail, Car Wreck Trail?
@laurenmiertschin3 жыл бұрын
Hi Amber. There's a car that wrecked there many years ago. It was never taken out because it is too difficult to get to.
@amber927823 жыл бұрын
@@laurenmiertschin Was the driver rescued though?
@laurenmiertschin3 жыл бұрын
@@amber92782 Hopefully, but it was so long ago, that there is not even any information on it that I know about. There's rumors though, and I believe I once heard that the occupants survived.
@amber927823 жыл бұрын
@@laurenmiertschin If that is true, it is great. Because I have been watching the series Fight to Survive and Critical Rescue, I sometimes feel their pain.

The little trail you started on is commonly called Waterworks Trail. OC Parks is adding a formal start to that trail that switchbacks down from Antonio Parkway. When you come down Waterworks and hit the main trail, continue straight across the trail to a parallel, single track trail that will take you several hundred yards north to rejoin the main trail, it's a little nicer.

mountain bikers , any problems? great hike I want to go tomorrow
@laurenmiertschin5 жыл бұрын
There are mountain bikers on this hike for sure. But I didn't have any problems with them. It will be beautiful out there tomorrow. Bring plenty of fluids -- the trail is almost completely exposed, so it can get warm.

Where is the trailhead and these detours located? I'd like to hike them as well. Thanks.

From Interstate 5, take El Toro exit (Laguna Hills) and head away from the coast & toward the mountains. El Toro road turns into Santiago Canyon Road (near the famous Cook's Corner biker restaurant). Stay on Santiago Cyn Rd (which veers left at Cook's Corner). Turn right at Modjeska Grade (it is easy to miss). If you miss, turn right at Modjeska Cyn (which is easier to see). After turning onto Modjeska Cyn turn right at Modjeska Grade. Santiago Truck Trail is on Modjeska Grade, but you cannot park at the trail head. Watch the parking signs along Modjeska Grade to determine where to park. Detour #1 is very quickly in, on the left. Detour #2 is actually the first set of flags that you see in the distance (you need to be looking upward). There are a couple trails that you will see leading up to those flags. I will put a Google Maps link in the description above for Santiago Truck Trail. There are many wonderful hikes off of this trail, you can go for miles and miles. Thanks for asking! I love the trails and will talk about them any time.

Hey Lauren, just watched your video. I think It takes a stronger person to know when it's time to listen to your body. Just getting out there is the good thing...although I know this was 6 years go, so I'm sure you're way past that by now!

Hi Lauren, I watched your video on the XTERRA Malibu Creek 22K race before running it a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for sharing your race experiences. I had to DNS on the Bandit 30K earlier in the year and that sucked. I got a fever and body aches right before the race. I've been thinking of doing the Bulldog this year but am considering whether to do the 25K or the 50K. We'll see. Happy trail running!
