god bless Jim Pewter and his radio show on AM 100 MHz kept me holding on thru the night as a taxi driver in the early seventies , - greetings from Munich, Bavaria , Germany

the vibe I got from them playing together was.. Stan really was in need of approval with his constant looking at Chet.. and it seemed that Chat did not grow up around a lot of black folk 🤭 Liked Stan's set.. but him playing with Chet was a bit ill conceived; made him look and sound like the guitar version of "the carlton dance" - from the Fresh prince of bell air tv series. Chet recorded some fine tracks and is a guitar hero in his own right.. but jeez.. some pedestrian lackluster playing here no? 😱

I once saw Stanley, all alone,, in a small lounge, I was the only customer. Just me and him. I had no idea who he was, other than some kid working his way through college. But I was fascinated by his play.

These guys are improvising. The pocket is a mile wide. The bass player is great. Real music. It looks like Chet wants Yandel to take a solo and he doesn’t want to.

Il love Chet, but that opening of Stanley Jordan is pure artistic channeling of something beyond this earthly plane . Saw Chet w Suzy Boggus at Carnegie Hall in the 90’s. Will never forget it. Thanks for your comment ☀️
