I have lived in Oregon for 23 years. But, I lived west of Seattle for 14 1/2 years beforehand. I am loyal to the Seattle teams first: the Huskies; Seahawks; Sonic; Kraken; Sounders; and Mariners. Then, the other Washington teams: Gonzaga; Wazzu; Seattle; E Washington. I hope Wazzu can be in a strong group of 5 conference!!!

When you get in big time football travel costs are chump change. If you are worried about travel costs maybe get in a lower division of local teams.

I don't know much about Tulane, but if you are correct about them not valuing athletics and competing at the highest level they can, then Tulane probably isn't a good fit for the new PAC. The new PAC is looking for like minded institutions i.e. that value both athletics and academics.

If the PAC 12 wants to be a dominant major P5 conference, Memphis, Tulane, UTSan Antonio and South Florida should be added. The bottom line is the TV contract. If you can get 14 to 17 million per team per year, it's a no-brainer. All four teams should go and it would no doubt be the 5th best conference in college football.

Love to have you come out west. I looked up the distance from Portland, which is where we fly out for longer trips, to Memphis, New Orleans and Tampa. 1850, 2000 and 2500. I mean, once you go that far, what's another hour? I'd like to see us add all three of you and maybe ECU too. (3000 miles there).
