Movie scared me so as a kid- that I was afraid to watch. But I did. For 10 seconds- got scared and turned it off 😂😂😂🎉

I saw this movie as a kid on TV in the mid 60s. Scared the living you-know-what out of me then, and I still get a little nervous response when I see trailers for the film or stills from it. I think it was the lighting and the camera angles that got to me. For weeks after seeing this film, I remember checking every adult I could secretly get a look at for that little telltail indicator on the back of their necks. Never found one, though.

It's called getting Super-Super-Covid-Shingles... what has the ..XXXX Research Labs cooked up for western distribution? Investigate these bums, not the President's bumbling son? Maybe you'll find a real "Batman"? I saw a lot of weird XXXX when I visited in the 90s.

I received my copy a while ago. The restoration is excellent and I highly recommended grabbing this great film. For those from other countries, keep in mind that 4K is Region ALL, so it will play on any 4K equipped player. I have a significant collection of '50s sci-fi and I'm thrilled to be able to add this classic to my collection. Looking forward to seeing what other gems Ignite Films bring forward for us. :)

No chance they took out that awful military stock footage is there? One or two brief ones worked okay was all those rolling tanks for too silly for words. I wish they had padded out the plot a bit more than stick in that junk just to make it longer. Anyway, I've seen this a million times since kidhood (first on TV in B&W) and love it to bits, especially the chorale music at the very end. Cheers.

I remember the green guys lumbering around oddly with a gadget that looked like the end of a fire hose that instantly cut tunnels. This is a great movie that, yet somehow manages to keep off my list of favorite old scifi though no fault of it's own. I'm wondering if it doesn't get shown very much.

Same here! I even remember seeing it for the first time. I was 7 or 8, during the early 70s--it came Chiller Theater on a Saturday midnight on WPIX ch. 11 in NYC. The way the Martians would come up underground and how they stuck that antenna in the back of your neck---man, I didn't sleep well for days!

A 4K refresh is just what this film needed. Actually, I've never seen it before, so I have no idea if it's any good. But, films like this are at the very least a time capsule with a window into the psyche of our culture decades ago. That's gotta be worth something.

Ok what's next, remaking Day of the Triffids? They already did Village of the Damned. When I was a gradeschooler coming home at 3:30 in the afternoon, there was ONE of our local stations that had an amazing director of movie archiving. They scared the daylights out of me with movies like these, gloriously schlocky movies from the 50's about giant crabs or spiders mutated by atomic radiation, or invading space creatures, or the worst, the aftermath of widespread atomic radiation. I love these old movies now.

Yes! Looking forward to the restoration copy! After seeing this clip I noticed that the clip has beautiful color and sound but.... it appears to have been 'SMOOTHED' with a 'SOAP OPERA EFFECT' giving it a look of being shot with a video camera. Is the movie going to have this effect on it or are we going to experience the film on A CANVAS OF CELLULOID, retaining THE FILM-LOOK like we are all used to seeing?

It was restored by the highly lauded preservationist Scott MacQueen with the utmost care and attention to detail to preserve the film in the fashion in which it was meant to be seen. We can assure you no "smoothing" took place.
