What do you use to filter the milk when you bring it inside the house?

Just made it-2 tablespoons of salt for 2 lbs turned out very salty. I’ll cut it down to 1 tablespoon next time.

I have found raw milk and some stores luckily to see the difference (no sure how raw) but IT WAS THE BEST TASTING MILK I EVER HAD! Though I wish I didn't throw it out after a few days as you know, pasturized milk spoils, so I thought the lumps where old milk,HAHA! I was so shocked when I learned raw milk didn't spoil and I wish we can go back to raw milk as we are a wasteful society nowadays and it ledd me to learn how many used milk ACTUALLY have! It's crazy awesome!

I can't find sorrel ANYWHERE except in stupid tiny herb packets... nowhere near enough for soup! I live in the San Francisco Bay area. I grew up eating sorrel soup my polish grandfather made. He grew his own

I've made a lot of sausage and if I were to say, #1 rule: keep everything, product and grinder head almost freezing cold throughout the process. Ground meat is much more susceptible to spoil. The grinder head generates heat through friction so it's even best to put it in the freezer for a while first, and then work fast. The meat cubes and feeds better slightly frozen and it goes a long way toward preserving fresh flavor. And unless drying or smoking the product, never puncture the casing.

Not bad. He covered many important steps; missed some as well, but he was nervous, probably had done several takes. He was demonstrating the steps that he showed us well enough. 170 degrees seems a bit high for the mash; didn't look like he had it that high though. Love the quick sparge/rinse of the grains; I would have done the same with the hop bags, that were dripping with enough juice to make another beer lol That carboy had been racked and topped up at some point off camera. Not described/mentioned. All in all though this covered enough for someone new to make good beer....or great beer.

Pre-warm the liquid malt. Add hot water to the can and swish till ALL the LME is dissolved. Another beer in there.

Nice presentation, we have a 60 acre chestnut tree farm in Northern MI with a mixed variety of trees as well. We've tried some Dunstan but have a number of Hybrid American trees successfully growing as well as Bouche de Bétizac, Precoce Migoule, Colossal, and Chinese varieties.
