You were never the biggest band in the world you silly fucker, biggest bank in the UK, without a doubt, when you start filling stadiums like U2 and the Stones, then you can start making comments like that #arsehole

Never heard The Beatles comparison myself. Oasis in my eyes are more of a mashup of The Sex Pistols/Guns and Roses and a dabble of The Stone Roses especially in those early records. I know GNR is a mad comparison but if you put Morning Glory next to Night Train by Guns and Roses you will know exactly what I mean. Both fast paced hard hitting rock n roll songs with a powerful nihilistic guitar riff which drives the tempo forward. If you put Up In The Sky next to any Stone Roses song from the debut you will hear the comparison. As for the Sex Pistols comparison that is more of the attitude they carried around with them that is similar not necessarily the music.

Noel talks alot of ball dont he..not gonna go solo...ya joking .....the older i get i see it all the time...as for me ...the first 3 albums... and the b side album are wicked...i loved be hear now as much as the first 2.... after that tho ... they didnt do much for me..became to predictable.......his solo stuff is ok ..but it dont get close in my eyes......same for liams solo stuff...the song once is good but the rest are average....but ill always be thankful for those 90s albums...i needed a band like that at the time ..after nirvana there was a hole....and they filled it for a few years for me. Early oasis with guigsy and bonehead ..great live band

This is the most honest interview I've seen from Noel. He was clearly in a bit of a spiral of self doubt, probably because coming off the drugs, probably because the music world had changed around him, probably because the band was collapsing around him. There's always been this bravado which I guess comes from the sense that he escaped the dreadful upbringing he had so anything after that is a bonus, but he's genuinely vulnerable here. He has something to lose at this point and is in danger of losing it, and doesn't have the 'toot' to help charisma his way through it. It's fascinating and really just, I guess, normal human.

3 albums in as many years, multiple world tours, music videos, dozens of b-sides, interviews. that's brutal.. . the band should have established a second song writer earlier on. things went pear shaped in a very public way, and since he was in charge the blame fell on him. . . I think the time away was enough to see the writing on the wall. Liam's voice was toast, everyone still wanted them to be a rock band and he was trying to sober up and write songs that reflected that

I really admire Noel in that he's very intelligent he doesn't mince his words he says it as it is and isn't afraid to put his opinion across even if he knows people will hate it . He's basically very honest and says it as it is and that's a rare thing nowadays seen as a lot of famous people employ people to write what they should say in interviews and to the press, but Noel doesn't give a shit and he's definitely not that pretentious and up his own arse . He's never lost that quality or attitude towards interviews and press, he really is a breath of fresh air when it comes to celebrities who are solely concerned about their image and what boring shite comes out their mouth. Noel is a real one he's never given a fuck and still doesn't give a fuck 😊
