do the 4090 even have nvlink? if not its a waste. pretty much the last was 2080 i think maybe the 1080 but a 1080ti sli is very similar to 3090. 300 bucks. sli only died because if you have 2x1080ti only 3090 would be able to compete and 3080 which is 2 generations. so if 2 2080ti then what a 5090? do you get the logic in it??? if sli doeesnt work then 1080ti sli also shouldnt work. im not saying all games but like 80% will run at 2x speed and 10% will be a hassle but will run, the last 10 % will only use 1 gpu. it would mean that 2 generations wouldnt be bought and only the 3rd would be but you need the 2 generations to get to the 3rd so they would have to sponsor their r&d themselves. there is no logic in removing it. It would mean a lot of people would buy 2x the gpu but wouldnt get the performance and it would die by itself. 1080ti will be written in history books of gpu's just imagine what would happen if you enabled 1080ti's for resizable bar and dlss. if it cant why can it do ray tracing and not just simple ray tracing almost all of it
