I think she's not sending up a spike is cuz I've Never fed her, I can't even remember what color her blooms were 😅 I'm gonna order that Orchid food spray you showed and see what happens😊❤

I love the mason jar test! I know that I have very sandy soil - I'm in Florida, after all, but I love how the mason jar test can show you the different components! I'll have to give that a try!

Every year i go for a traditional Victorian tree. Where i have a real Christmas tree, and i put REAL candles on the branches like they used to.. It generally goes up around the 25th, and we have to call out the fire department to put it out

So helpful. I never do well with these plants. I get them as gifts and feel bad because it’s a death sentence. I usually give it away to a better home. I have one now and it’s tugging at my heartstrings. I’m sure it’s going to thrive now that I found your helpful information. If it responds I may name it. ❤

For these wooden things, i usually wrap plastic around the part that i put in the soil, so it doesnt rot

Very helpful. I've had orchids in the past with little success. It's my 28th wedding anniversary and I'm giving orchids. This was super helpful.

Sort of... deoends on what you want to accomplish and how and which is most imortant f I r the year... If all of your blooms are unscene. At the top of a very legy. Lilac, you won't see them. You need compact the Bush. You can still get some growth on side, but cutting them down is needed

What do you do with wilted flowers and buds
@wassomebody2386Ай бұрын
Just buy varieties that don’t flop and have strong stems. Duh.

One can also use peony cages, which are more visibly appealing than larger tomato cages. One can also use green garden twine, which becomes invisible once installed. Just wrap it two times around the peony prior to bloom; one wrap around the middle and one near the top. Takes two minutes and is almost free.

No, we don't do it in Russia. In Russia we are eating 5 petal lilac flowers before any exams to get high marks :) и получаем пятёрочки
@FridayRiddles29 күн бұрын
So, you’re associating lilac with intelligence? I think his argument is valid: Russians link lilac to wisdom, and the techniques used can differ by region due to Russia’s large size.

I tend to over water when I am home a lot. I find that using a good grade of pumice in the soil prevents me from drowning my plants. The pumice causes the water to got through the soil quickly so it can dry out. Of course, in some cases I may have to water more often because of all of the drainage material that is in the soil but it is better than having root rot. I mix my soils according to each plant’s requirements. I used to use perlite for this purpose but for over two years now the perlite quality has been terrible. It is mostly powder that is useless for drainage. Pumice lasts longer anyway. Even good perlite has a shorter lifespan than pumice.
